Massive drop of FPS since 1.2 has been released.

Hello Cmdrs,

First of all, I want to say that, the intensity of the blast I am having playing ED is much more higher than before !
Well done FD.

BUT (has to be one, sorry).

Has anyone noticed a massive drop of FPS and audio issue both in SC and in normal space (Conflict zone including) since 1.2 has been released ?
I did not have this kind of problem during the beta 1.2 though.

I really started to noticed that in Leesti system.
But I soon realised that it was not the only system I had performance issue with.
In fact, it seems that the increasing number of NPCs flying in both SC and normal space could be one of the reason why this is happening.
Is it a collateral damaged of the network code used to bring the Wing feature to us ? (wild guess).
Or is my computer suddenly not able to cope with ED resources requirement ?

So, has anyone noticed that ?

Frame rates for me have been pretty much identical between 1.1 and 1.2, so it's a no from me.

That includes fighting in RES's with loads of NPC's zipping about the shop.
 
there was a bug recently which spawned tons of npc's during supercruise. this has been fixed.

other than that the performance is pretty much identical. maybe some improvements to stuttering when closing in on planets during supercruise.

high populated systems during supercruise are pretty bad though. it cuts my fps in half or even more. i recommend not coming to tanmark for the community goal. lots of players and npc's but super low fps. it actually forced me into solo play, because of the performance.

Yeah, I've noticed a lower frame rate in general since 1.2 was released. My system is old though. I've got an old dual core intel processor (before the whole iX family) and my graphics card really isn't up to much.

Whilst it would be nice to squeeze a bit more time out of my PC, I'm taking the drop in framerate as an excuse to buy new components.
 
Hi fellow commanders. Had the same issue just after release 1.2, but since yesterday (new patch) the game is again running at more than 60 fps, in whatever cruise mode I am.

I have i5-3570K and GTX680, been playing at "High" settings from start, havent notice anything special since 1.1 myself, though I´m not watching any information about my FPS when I play.

But I have noticed that having NVIDIA GeForce to "optimize" my game, it starts having stuttering near planets in SC/at stations. Guess it is "Fullscreen" (that wont fit into my screen right), no problems when I change from controls to "Borderless" and hit "High"-settings there (havent take closer look but think it is what GeForce "optimizes" me into, too, but in "Fullscreen").

And I have already kinda old driver from last year, think first that mentioned ED, 347.52, had some performance problems with newer that mentioned ED too, rolled back and it has worked fine since.

So I guess it could be many reasons, but start with trying "Borderless" if you already havent so far. Try and error for victory!
