Engineers Material Traders - Exchange Chart/Matrix

I reckon Material Traders have somewhat lessen the grind/farm for data and materials but an exchange chart/matrix of data/mats that are of the same type - e.g., Worn Shield Emitters -> Shield Emitters -> Shielding Sensors and one other before Imperial Shielding - will be most helpful (including the exchange ratios).

I'm hoping a CMDR has created such a chart/matrix and will be grateful if anyone can direct me to the url :)

Edit: Found one here - https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/405498-Material-Trader-Helper, except is there another version in maybe spreadsheet format?

The ratios are always the same. 6 up, 3 down. I think it's doubled sideways, not sure never even looked at it. As for the type, well, you can work it out from the name most times.

The exchange ratios are not the same and it's more to exchange with another item up/down than on the left - items on the same row belong to the same family so to speak.

The names are not always similar - especially with raw mats and data.

The mathematics are actually pretty simply. 6->1 going up a grade and 3->1 going down a grade within the same category/row/type what ever you want to call it. Going across category/row/type what ever you want to call it, it is 6->1 at the same grade.

For example, 6 grade 3 mats will trade for a different grade 3 mat. What actually happens when one goes from one grade across categories to a different grade is actually pretty simple, though it happens behind the scenes. It converts to the same grade, then applies the 6->1 or 3->1 depending. For example, going from grade 3 to grade 2 different category, apply the 6:1 for the cross grade, then the 3:1 down, so 6 g3 mats yield 1 g3 in the other category, and then down trade to g2 at 3:1, so total, 6 g3 yields 3 g2 of a different category, hence the 2:1 g3 to g2 cross category ratio.

Thanks. I was breaking my head, confused by that error on wiki at (i4,o2) another type field.

So e.g. a5 to b2: 6a ->1b, 1b -> 27b, 6a = b27, all div 3 = 2a : 9b.

Wow, I owe You a coffee.

Regardless if one trades horizontally or vertically or diagonally in any direction up, down; One should be extremely mindful of the fact that if one makes the selection and then changes ones mind; Trading back will consist of a loss of materials. If one trades down and receives six for every one they trade and they trade one for example they would receive six. If one decides they messed up and trades back they will not receive 1 for every 6. Thus the difference is a compete loss of mats.
