So far they've released.. err... 2 patches(?) with a few emergencypatches to fix the patches that would fix the patch and patches and a handfull of bugs. But don't sweat, fleet carriers are here soon(TM)(3rds the charm) with all the glorious features and funstuffs**

**bugs, more bugs

I don't know what suggestions we can give other than "get a better internet connection" and "stop downloading 'adult movies' while playing!"
....but that being said - rants are understandable...not a good idea - but understandable.
I honestly hope OP can leave his salt behind and join this community - more Cmdr's are a good thing!
But...yeah...take a chill pill OP! o7

Mauve Adder is usually caused by client side network packet loss issue.

FD has no way to fix YOUR network problems.

If you're on wireless, plug in to see if it resolves the problem. If it does, either your WAP or the adapter on your device is having problems.

If not, you might have to get into wireshark and start tracing packets. Firewalls and routing table issues can cause these problems.

Maybe a router re-boot wouldn't hurt.

I've solved crazy network problems just re-plugging in cards and cables. Physical issues, not always electronic happen too.

Is that Chief Dan George, Frillop?
I met his grandson in BC!

Well now i took a nap. Before i made the decision to rant about that error i googled it often enough. Found nothing really helpful. Only pointing fingers in the direction of the clients. That doenst really help. I enjoyed the game hundreds of hours without getting the error THIS often. nothing changed on my side. No new computer, no new provider, nothing. So a little help would be nice. To be fair my vocabulary used might not be the best idea but everything else from posts months ago didnt get an answer aswell... im on my way to triple elite (dont care about arena) and LOVE the GAME!!!! its the best out there for the genre. but you know the grind. Its there - and it is ...like it is... sometimes you just think: what am i doing. But when you crash with the same error in the worst way possible while trying to get materials in a more "fun" way......without disconnecting manually to menu and reconnect back up to respawn whatever you are collecting right now. Ouf that took some Mauve Adder Errors to ragequit for me. But sometimes its enough. Thanks for all your replies. Maybe a Dev will see this and they might be giving instructions how to fix the problem on the client side not by just saying "its on your side... have a look at your network." - o7 CMDRs

Have you tried unplugging your computer?
And not plugging back in again? Or are you for real. Since this is the only game that seems to have problems with my connection i havent tried yet, no :D
Oh and btw, in more than 20 years of gaming i have never even thought about playing with WLAN connection :)

Good question. I really would like to know the answer. Sometime ago I asked around who this man is, as I've forgotten where I got it from (after lurking on my HD for ages). One of the incoming suggestions was indeed Chief Dan George. Never found a profile image from him so that I could better compare. But from what I can see I have my doubts... If you still have contact to his son, maybe you could ask him? Anyway, I really like his proud and sturdy expression. That's not really me though (besides wishful thinking perhaps), I'm just stubborn I guess. ;)
It is him, looks like his funeral profile.

Open a support ticket and they will tell you if they are seeing high packet loss on your side. They will tell you how to send your logs to them for analysis.

The last thing anyone wants to here is that the problem is on their end, but it can be the case. Software updates alone can cause unanticipated problems.

I had the Mauve Adder crash for a long time - claiming nothing had changed - it's all FD's fault - only to find out that my son had a VPN open on the network that was bleeding packet to our satellite network.

It can be a host of issues including hardware and software that can change and create the problem. I sort of look at ED as the canary in the coal mine that helps me know there's an issue that needs to be fixed. As much as it's not what a consumer wants to hear, it can actually help keep your network clean if you remedy the issue.

Other potential fixes:

1) Sometimes you didn't change anything, but something about your connection did. You could be being throttled or the settings may have been adjusted. At one point, I had to contact my ISP and complain that I was being throttled nightly at 11:30. Other network settings may have changed, or your connection might have been destabilized by other factors including the equipment simply getting old and starting to cause issues.

2) Blow into the cartridge and the NES. Jiggle it a little. If that fails, use an alcohol swab and run it along the inside of the slot. Easier if you have a top loader.

3) Turn in your 28k modem. 56k is an option now.

Jokes aside, @GJ51 has given you some great advice. Check into all that, but also file a ticket and see if Frontier can help. Unlike the dev team, their support team are excellent communicators.

What a load of crap.

Took me all of 30 seconds to determine that a Mauve Adder was related to local network issues, not the client software. Just because YOU haven't changed anything doesn't mean some someone else, like your ISP, hasn't changed something. Depending on the technology involved (DSL etc) it may be a simple as an increase in demand in your area..

How is it the FDev's problem or even a coding issue when the game client can't see through the swamp that is your local network? The game errors due to your network issues, not the game code - so blame the right thing.

How exactly do FDev advise you on your local network? They don't know the tech involved, ISP policies, routing, or whether you are streaming or downloading torrents at the same time..

The issue is yours. Own it. Don't come here and rant at the dev's for something they have no control over.

EDIT: You've uninstalled the game, in a rage, what makes you think the dev's give a fetid dingo kidney for your opinion?
