Engineers Maybe I will start playing ELITE again if..

The exhausting Grind to find some upgrade mats is fixed and the Upgrade machine that took FIFTY Rolls to give a Tier One increase of 10%, (the other 49 were all Downgrades), is made do-able without being so tedious you give up and play a less grinding game. Meanwhile all NPC's get the top Upgrades instantly and without any cost or work. Flame away = "you have no skillz, I did it easily, suck up to the moderators because you want to be one.)

No flaming here, it is very easy currently. It only becomes a grind if you make it so.

Now with that out of the way.. Can you define what Grind means to you and what a lack of Grind means to you?

I find it funny how people apply words like "grind" and "RNG" to Engineers. Have you ever tried true hardcore MMOs? Imagine you'd have to spend months on obtaining a single weapon for your ship and then when you try to enchant/engineer you have a 50% chance of totally destroying it. The higher the level of enchantment the higher the chances of failure.
ED is too casual LOL

You need to git gud with the engineers. like combat, there's techniques in how to get what you want quickly and efficiently. Read the various guides.

What he said, I've been playing the game for over a year and only now have got around to even thinking about doing a bit with the engineers, got one at 5 one at 4. out of which I have used one twice on 2 FSD's another once for a few perks on a engine and a shield, and that was so I could move towards another.

Oh and I went out and picked up 25 Unknown fragments for when I need them for what's his name, never grinded for anything I guess it's how you play the game it only becomes a grind if you let it.

Well...
They I must say; I sincerely hope you find a reason to come back! [yesnod]

"Dear God...."

Yeah, +1 to the 'you make it what it is' group.

I've only done level one and two uprades, but they were mostly done just by osmosis - I had collected the majority of the matts just going about my business in ED.

Wow!..at least I wait for someone to respond to my posts in a negative manner before savaging them :D

...& it sounds a bit like you harbour deep resentment towards NPCs..those lucky, work-shy, intangible b*stards!! [haha]

You remind me of The Shadow in 'Blackadder' except he/she had an irrational hatred of squirrels, rather than abstract coding!

Here is my complaint with FD - the lack of documentation around features. I quit playing back in March '16 just before Engineers dropped. Got tired of the bugged missions to be honest. Just jumped back in and am remembering the great aspects of the game. However the bad are still around - dropped in on an engineer and upgraded my MC - just one, and I had NO idea how or IF I can have the same thing done to the OTHER MC on my boat. No doc, no description in the game or from FD - I have to scour the internet for 2nd hand guides and tools (use and LOVE EDToolbox, Inra and Coriolis) that should be provided by FD. Its frustrating and since I don't do PvP I am just going to ignore Engineers - which is a shame since I PAID FOR IT.

Other snit - Seems missions are still flaky 9mos later. Took a "kill x in system y" mission, jumped in, scanned the Nav Beacon and was told he was near planet 6. Cool....zoomed over there and hung out. 3x I hear announcement about "target" EVERY time I heard that within 10sec someone appeared and interdicted me....all. three. times. By then the time range was up and mission failed.....ahhhh good to see mission bugs are still there.
