Mercenaries of Mikunn - The Background Simulation and Colonization Test

I know a number of commanders have expressed confusion over this in the past few days so let me clear something up;

In regards to the Mercs position on the current war in Kwatee, we are fighting for the Constitution Party of Kwatee. They are the second option in the factions choices in the functions panel.

When it comes to the immediate Mikunn area we are pro-independent.

Fly safe, fly deadly,
The Count of Monte Fisto.

These problems existed before Monday and Tuesday as well. Though we do have states triggering here this week.

Ops, sorry for the terrible grammar before, writing from phone and all that :D

Yes some problems have been going on for before, but not getting states queued at all (like, not appearing in the queue when they should have)did not seem to be a problem before /at least not so far.

Anyway, seems they did some update/work this morning to fix some queue problems, maybe it will work now (or hoping so).

It may be the bug we've had forever where once you look at a faction state with no Pending or Current state, you won't see any Pending states for any other faction. You can quit to main menu to reset it.

We're well aware of that pending state display error that was recorded in the patch notes of 1.1 as being fixed but still remains ;)
The current set of bugs that KNac is referring to are new unfortunately

Attention all pilots,
This is a reminder that any Dukes of Mikunn bounties being redeemed in HR 7327 should be cashed in at Hiraga Gateway.
Same goes for exploration data.

Keep up the great work, pilots.

Hmmm. It's sort of hard for us to tell because we have had similar problems that were host to expanded factions for the longest time, but thanks for the heads up. Though knowing everyone is feeling my pain now isn't really a consolation :p. The Mercs would rather shoulder the burden for you.

Looking at Influence in HR 7327 post Election, it appears we're able to shift Influence in the system now. Helps having a station.

So my question is, are we doing it by trade, missions, bounties, or exploration data. I propose we focus on one of these types each day. We should also avoid doing anything in Sukua so we can see if the Influence goes to Sukua again like it use to.

I suggest
April 15 (6h left) & 16 --> Bounty Hunting
April 17 --> Trade - try not to sell / buy in HR 7327 as that will also Influence LP and DC (try Wing-Lock)
April 18 --> Missions
April 19 --> Sell exploration data

To be clear, with bounty hunting and exploration data, and even missions, you can do them collecting credits throughout, but turn them in on those specific dates (based on the game clock / GMT).

We have already sorta done this. We have done exploration, bounty hunting and kill system authority.

WE have both gone up and down on bounty hunting only days, and on the day we gained 10% we were doing bounty hunting and kill station authority.

It really depends on what mysteron does each day and he doesn't tell me. Also I won't be ready by the 19th to test with all of my exploration data. The best thing we can do is focus on bounties for a while and see what the overall trend is since we are being worked against. Then switch to something else for a while and repeat. One day won't be a large enough sample.

We know kill station authority works, and has worked for a long time, as that simply subtracts Influence from one faction. The big question is what adds Influence to an expanded faction, such as the Dukes of Mikunn.

If we're going to focus on Bounty Hunting for several days, we should refrain from doing missions and selling exploration data.

The point is, we need to keep each action type discreet. I agree one day isn't really a good sample, but I thought it might be a good start. 3 days would be better.

How about this?
* 15th (partial), 16th, 17th, and 18th for bounty hunting.
* 19th, 20th, 21st for trade
* 22nd, 23rd, 24th for missions
* 25th, 26th, 27th for exploration data dumps.

Mysteron induced Influence jumps tend to be single day events. Having a sample of 3 should make outliers more evident. We can also repeat the experiment if we want more than 3 sample points per action. Probably a good idea to mix up the order too.

Edit: If you want to keep bounty hunting after the 18th, just wait until the 28th to redeem them.

I like it.

Cool. Can we note in the Team Speak server to focus on Bounty Hunting in HR, and refrain from trade / missions / exploration data dumps to the 18th?

So to be sure I get this.

Its okay if we:
Kill WANTED NPCs anywhere (for example: Mikunn nav., HR 7327 USSs, <any system> USSs, NAVs, RESs), BUT cash them ONLY at Hiraga.

Not okay to:
Do bounty hunt missions (for example: Kill n pirates). Even if we take them at Hiraga.

You can always wait to cash in the missions.

Greetings Mercenaries,

I'm happy to announce the creation of the Mercenary Rangers, the Mercs of Mikunn's new exploration and information focused sub-group.

The group's focus is going to be two-fold;

-Exploration

-Gathering and recording information on the background simulation

I've posted an FAQ thread on our forums for our existing members, which is posted under the "Mercenary Rangers" sub-forum on the Jobs Bulletin. I'll be posting more information there soon so keep an eye out.

Any Mercenaries who enjoy exploration or monitoring the background simulation should check the group out.

That's all for now, fly safe!

CMDR Monte Fisto.
