Mercenaries of Mikunn - The Background Simulation and Colonization Test

Recently posted my video of my Exploration trip to Thaileia ZU-V D3-117 on the Oculus / Vive forums. Mentioned Mercs of Mikunn and this thread. So we may expect some folks to come say "hi!" especially after those VR headsets come out. Might be a good idea to keep the TeamSpeak populated.

You would be better off talking to the Kumo Crew rather than just deciding to oppose Wadir without discussion. We have come to agreements with other player groups in our space before.

Well it would put our systems in power play. Archon subreddit has known we have been over here since June of last year. Why didn't anyone discuss with us first before prepping here? You have 3 other possible expansions as well. Why not focus on those?

To clarify I didnt even know about it until you posted here (Been busier than usual lately). So I'm guessing you ran into one of our commanders in the area at the time who did notice. That being said, we have been in this area for a very long time and I know Archon reddit knows because they attacked our systems late last June.

Different players now, the Code have left.

We have no idea what systems you are interested in. You didn't ask us before you tried your 5C prep test then and you haven't bothered to talk to us now either.

So do you want to start over and reach an understanding or keep going as we are?

Edit: and your commanders have been talking about opposing it since early in the cycle on your own site. They have even gone and requested assistance from the IPC.

We await an approach from you so that we can understand what your problem is with us undermining this system. We are not interested in Mikunn - it is a loss maker, so thought nothing of it.

I planned the 5 C prep test before powerplay even started. There was no one to contact. I chose Archon Delaine then because it was the one I believed would be the least popular and less likely to aggravate people. ;) I was half correct.

You have tried to take Wadir several times. Our problem is that it exploits systems we own. Where would I contact you? Alternatively you can make accounts on elithor and I can make a private message room.

Reddit and here? Visit us on our Discord, the link is on the Reddit sub.

I can't recall when we last tried to expand to Wadir. I will find out.

Edit: it was either cycle 1 to 4, if at all. Our records from cycle 5 show that we have have never had any interest in this area.

You need to understand that the current group of players have never had any dealings with you.

The last attempt on Wadir was in mid Dec 2015. I guess book-keeping isn't one of the key competencies for being a pirate lord. For the record I mentioned to IPC that if they fancied PvP there was plenty on offer in Wadir. We are part of a loose collection of independent player groups, which includes the IPC , who club together to oppose powers when they try to muscle into the home areas of independent player groups. I doubt that the Mercs knew anything about it till they turned up.

Ah yes. Cycle 29, we had forgotten about that. We must have thought the Empire opposed this as we were going fit the other one that cycle. We didn't hear from anyone then either.

The fact remains that we still have not had any clarification on what systems are "Mikunn" space. As I said earlier, we do Powerplay, not group stuff.

Matters would be far easier if you had a talk first policy.

Any area remotely near Mikunn or Sefrys is going to be filled with our factions. We have been expanding for quite some time here.

OK. We are 20 - 30 LY from you in Wadir, so the bubble is a way off Mikunn for that system.

A list of systems would be useful so that we can assess our future plans in this area. Without a list we have no idea what is important to you.

And you may want to consider calling off attacks on our pilots in the meantime.

I think its the expansions from Mikunn and Sefrys that are the issue. The Mercs have been out here (attempting to stay out of the reach of power) and playing the BGS for longer than we have (and we have expanded up to 40LY from origin)

Its not hard to find systems under their control around Wadir eg:

I'm not going to bother looking through a bunch of exploited systems. We're after the control system CC, not much analysis goes after that consideration.

If Mikunn wish to stay out of it they need to provide a list of systems and talk to us.

Providing a list of systems doesnt make sense. Between the two of us, CI and my group have almost 30 systems in the area. Providing you with a list of systems would be useful to you for the purpose of avoiding our systems in the area; however we have so many in the area that you wouldnt be able to squeeze in one of your control systems in somewhere. If you are remotely near Mikunn or Sefrys, you are expanding onto our systems.

The only purpose providing you with a list would serve would be towards endangering the systems on that list, therefore we would rather not.

In much the sme way that the Mercs relied on us to negotiate with Mahon because we were the affected party, its the Mercs that are the buffer between our systems and your power.

With Mahon, we ended up defining a zone by radius from our home system that they would not seek to expand into. I suggest you try something similar if it is your intention not to encroach on player controlled systems.

In the end there isn't a lot player groups can do about it if a power chooses to invade, but you can expect the locals to at least try and resist and we have started to try and look after each other

That's why I have asked for the system lists. If you wish to give us your systems in confidence we could see what can be done.

I vaguely remember your player group as being the one who first started the 5c attacks on powers by pushing bad systems onto their prep lists.
Its nice to put a face to your true enemies, rather than us blaming Mahon, which is who all the players are actually pledged to that are opposing our expansion.

Yeah its good to have some action on 5c at last. And to meet commanders in open, the bonus for open can't be fast enough. The first time you prepped Wadir was a disappointment, as no one showed up. We wondered whether this was another nuisance attempt.

Its just a pity that most of your active guys seem to be on Pacific time. If/when the Delaine ship sinks we have a couple of Australian mercs you could team up with, if you like our corner of the galaxy.
