Mercenaries of Mikunn - The Background Simulation and Colonization Test

You wouldn't want to anyway. We have spent the last year making this area bad for Archon control specifically, though you probably notice that now.

Its no different to Imperial space, we have half expansion triggers with Feudal and Patronage governments, but worse fortification triggers with feudal

I don't think it was 100k, but thanks.

We will see soon who actually wins, but it was a very good arm wrestle all week ling with you guys.

Personally I thought all of you would be grinding away in solo/private all week long, we face massive opposition from the Empire in most of our expansions, but I've never had so much PvP all week long.
.

It was 118407 in the last 24 hours, 116376 in the last 12 hours and 54743 in the last two hours, not that I was counting or anything. Hard for a player group, or ever two or three (TWH) to stand up to that.

Solo/private, what's that :)

If we go against an expansion, or plan some PVP with the Archon folks we will let Rootsrat know, I would love to wing up with you guys again. I'm glad you had fun. I need to talk with some of the others, including Rootsrat about what we want to do.
I'll probably start dabbling in power play some more. This is the first time I got to tier five.

Ok then. Shame that most TWH members were thousands Ly away from the bubble taking part in our exploration event this time, but they should be back soon eventually.
When ZH has no expansion targets for me I often snipe systems alone as there is no problem for me to do 6k-12k PP per cycle.

If Rootsrat ask us to help again surely we will.

Thanks! I don't want to commit you guys to anything without clearing it with your group as a whole. This week lets discuss. Your group helped a lot. Don't feel bad. Many of our heavy hitters are on DWE as well.... at Beagle Point. It was the perfect storm, lol. You can't get further away than that... though I hear one almost made it back early with excessive lithobraking.

You mean like [MERC] in game? Wouldn't that require an account restart?

I'm not sure it does (I don't actually know though) but during the Pegasi Pirate war The White Templars all of a sudden seem to have the [WT] tag so I'm thinking that Frontier maybe updated their cmdr names without a restart.

Might be worth asking them?

Thanks for the fight this week (and the IPC as well). Great fun (and quite expensive...).

How do you collate that information? Is is manual or do you automate it somehow? That's good info.

(We had a couple of chaps wondering around with a significant amount of merits and you didn't kill them. Simple as that, no need to bring the solo/PG thing into it - it can't be proved. The people that do powerplay have had that discussion many times before and it just creates bad feelings.)

The Mercs and CI are two of the oldest and most experienced BGS groups. We have the best data collection because it's necessary. CI's website is built around it.

We also don't force our guys to do open. We have open and private group players. I do both because I play with members who like both. I did kill both an anaconda and a fer-de-lance in my vulture with quite a few merits on me. You can ask Chardenz.

Obsessive monitoring of the state of play and an unhealthy love of spreadsheets.... I still prefer this one from Chireni

and I wasn't casting aspersions, merely stating that I will only play open, despite not actively engaging in PvP unless it involves a lot of running away

Anyway I'm off for a kip, I've got a [can't even quote Withnail] behind the eyes

I only play in open, and I have to run when necessary- though not a few minutes after announcing that my enemies should quit the system or be destroyed. While I had a large bounty I wasn't stacking merits, but on the occasions when there was a Delaine superiority in the system I couldn't gain merits.

Open vs solo and private is a topical question when an open bonus for Powerplay is being considered. I don't support solo and private Powerplay at all. Only the developers have the figures for open contributions, though if players are expected to make meaningful comments on a proposed open bonus scheme they would have to be released. I suspect that Delaine has a fairly strong Pacific/Sydney element and it might be that they were able to operate with some impunity. It might be expected that a Powerplay faction was more strongly represented across time zones than a couple of player factions and their allies?

I'm not fond of merit sniping either, it just seems a bad mechanic. What I'd like for the Powerplay level of the game would be a design which could produce a few epic conflicts which decided wars. Even with more of a commitment by both sides to Open, Wadir still seemed more like a series of skirmishes.

It has often been the case that we have been working in the same system as the Empire and not been able to see them. It comes down to instancing, friends lists, wings (a solo player is more likely to see an enemy wing) and location.

It's frustrating but something that we have learned to live with.

For example, the other night we were fighting with your players and then low waked out to follow them and no one was there. We are sure they were still in system but instancing prevented us meeting.

So the two sides were effectively in a private group.

Like yourself I only play in open (with the odd exception for non PP activities when beer takes over). I was in Wadir all week and at times had problems seeing other cmdrs. Last night the IPC (starkiller, Chef, etc?) were there and I knew they were there but still had to keep logging in and out of the game to instance with them.

I'm not sure how many players you think we have (we don't even know) but there's very recent poll on the Kumo reddit which might be an eyebrow raiser for you. The crew have always worked hard for what we take and keep.

Oh you mean the poll I had to answer earlier last week to see the results? ;)

I imagine thats full of a lot of inquisitive minds like myself!
