Merchants, Markets and Thrifts! Waow!

A long way off, I know - but hear me out!

Station and Planet Side Markets

For those of us who play in the Elite Dangerous Universe as characters, we all envision backstories and backdrops that elevate the purpose and mission our pilots are on. I feel a sense of achievement when I make a decision based on what my character would do and why. Through her entire childhood, my character was parlayed and maybe even sold on by vagabonds, merchants and mercenary's. As such, I always have this vision in my head that she has a little market stall on Orang 3, where she sells ship pieces, and modules, and other crazy items she has picked up in her hazy travels across the galaxy.

My suggestion is to make this a reality in the future, if (or when) we finally get spacelegs. The ability to have a stall either on a station, or on a planet, and sell your items there would make attaining those items somehow more lucrative and invigorating. It would give even more purpose to having a type 9 in your fleet, and even more purpose to doing missions that reward you with random commodities that can't be bought anywhere.

And the success of your stall would be completely situational and realistic. If you have a stall on a far flung planet, where you sell illegal items, for example, but you haven't travelled to spread word of it - then that's on you. But if you have friends, who have friends, and the tip of your little stall gets about, then you'll have a successful business. Just look at all those player ran factions that have garnered huge success over time as an example.

Anyway, just an idea! Not everyone would have the patience for it, perhaps, but I know some would love it.
