MFW a bunch of pirates jump in after I find some Gold...

A type 6 for mining and with no shields? WOW! That's ballsy! ;)

I found it the cheapest way, at the moment, to increase my yield.

One limpet controller and 36T capacity in a Cobra just wasn't enough. So now it's 48T and two limpet controllers and a whole lot of trepidation when I set out.

Thanks as usual for the valuable insights Stealth! I hear what you are saying... But do you understand where I am coming from in regards to seeing your shields fail so quickly after only a few hits?

In my experience with the Cobra for example, there was like maybe 20-30 seconds of time between the ship voice declaring "Under Attack! and the same voice saying "Shields Offline!". I am use to watching combat encounters on shows like Star Trek, where thy only start to have problems with their shields after a prolonged and nasty battle!

I just feel that your shields, for all their expense and attention we pay to them, should be able to hold up for at least a couple of minutes before they totally fail! I mean come on! I see all those segments of the shield when it SLooooooooowly recharges (Like watching paint dry), but never see those segments when the thing is taking hits. Its more like a light switch... ON and OFF! ;) Nothing gradual about it so far for me.

I'm obviously going to need to take the Vulture out soon for a few full sessions of combat related missions and visits to the various USS and RES areas. But I am definitely not going anywhere near the High Intensity RES areas! I know what those are like after stumbling into a few by accident. lol! ;)

The Cobra, like I said is a more armored ship so less shielding like the Scout 1 tier above. I can see what you mean, and it's why I pointed you in the direction of some ship's with a better shield capabillity. ;)
