Alas, solid framerate of 30, allowing for Ultra settings! Panning with TrackIR is rougher and takes some time to get used to again, but I prefer the eye candy:
Yeah, I thought I always closed the app properly, but what it could also be is setting Vsync to ON on top of forcing the framerate. God knows but it worked now, very happy.Keep in mind that FS2020 doesnt respond properly to such changes (VSync/ FR limiter and such) without restarting it.
You must have read my mind as I typed that in...love that songAmazing
Just completed my first ILS flight (Cessna 172 G1k) from what was the old Macrahanish US airbase in Argyll to Benbecula over in the Uists...still a lot of non descript fiddling with buttons going on with me between altitude hold/heading hold and trying to work out what the changes are doing in real time...I set an alt of 2,500 feet so I could see the black Cuillins on Skye below the clouds, visually still as breathtaking in the sim as when I climbed to the top of them doing the Munroes many years ago...getting the plane trimmed and keeping to the correct alt is seemingly something I have to master, there's probably a button or k.n.o.b I'm not pressing or twiddling somewhere along the way..
Uist has changed a bit since I lived there...lots of new buildings where there were formerly empty spaces. My old house now has a bigger byre than the one I built...Overall, the Uists are still a giant peat bog connected by causeways and surrounded by sea...enjoyed the experience of flying there since most of my trips home when I lived there were via the Uig to Lochmaddy ferry...Skye to North Uist. The drive through Skye was worth it back then![]()
Are those pine trees I see down there? I live in an area with pine trees, yet FS doesn't seem to recognize this fact. Every tree in FS I see is Deciduous, yet I tried changing seasons and the leaves (and grass) are always GREEN, so no nice autumns, and the leaves stay on the trees all fresh and green looking even in the middle of winter.... The lack of seasons (with the exception of snow on the ground) seems a serious oversight.Alas, solid framerate of 30, allowing for Ultra settings! All done via the Garmin...of which I have about as much practical knowledge as tossing a caber. It's as mentally demanding as setting the clock on my microwave oven...no matter how many times I do it, my brain refuses to accept and learn that repetitive button pressing process...meaning I have to start from scratch every time we have a power cut...which is 10 days out of every year up hereTo set things like hold altitude is that done through the Garmin 1000 gps unit within the plane or is it something you can set to a keybind?
I... erm... don't know, they're... treesAre those pine trees I see down there? I live in an area with pine trees, yet FS doesn't seem to recognize this fact. You can set a keybind for it no doubt...but clicking on it visually is the easiest option. The Garmin...it's virtually 'managing' rather than actually flying an aircraft...when it comes to managing things, if I can't physically shout at it and make it run around a drill square with a rifle above it's head...I'm kinda stumped.
Just had a thought...maybe that new MSFS HCS voice pack for voice attack would suss it out for me...I can shout at that.
I'd love to know what they are using for tools to edit scenery and airports.Just downloading some of the huge amount of freeware liveries and scenery fixes that are already available...even at this early stage. Several water level fixes for the Missouri river and most Alaskan waterways as well as scenery fixes for Bergen in Norway...nobody has thought of doing one for Orkney yet ... sniff . There's also a few freeware hand crafted airports/airfields. All from MSFS add-ons
I downloaded and installed an AI aircraft real world livery pack, several individual flyable aircraft liveries, the general liveries megapack that covers 6 flyable aircraft and 70 RW liveries.. as well as most of the terrain/water fixes...all freeware. Even the Nexus has some of them as well as a few other mods
I can see I might enjoy this...
Thank you.
