Hardware & Technical Mid-Budget DIY Hotas setup ? Your experience, recommendations, etc.

I've seen where ppl clamp and sturdy fixture to the front of the armrests on an office/gaming chair.
To my initial guess I'd think the clamps would take up less room over all. Probably more sturdy with quality clamps.

I would like to get clamps and wondering if anyone can recommend a good quality brand/model that doesn't break the bank.

Thanks all

[hotas]I would not mistakenly call it a "budget" HOTAS at $250 USD but my Saitek/Mad Catz/Logitech (Logitech just bought the company) X-56 Rhino works for me with the extra two small mini-joysticks and more switches than I am able to map. My first was defective but the replacement has worked fine since July. before that I was using a Logitech Extreme 3D joystick w/throttle control. Robust but not enough switches.

Thanks for reply

ah, those clamps are not budget.
I'd have to get an office chair with those clamps to use them also.
just looking for something that isn't on top of the desk. And I can lock Hotas down so doesn't move during intense combat.
I'ts not horrible, I think it might be better for combat if little more like a fighter pilot setup.

Visit the local DIY store and use your imagination. If you are a bit crafty, you can use TV wall mounts like this one, for example:

..and modify them to either hold the HOTAS on the armrests, or extend them from under the table to be able to pull the chair in between them.

Maybe one of those under-the-desktop keyboard shelves that slides in-and-out from under the desktop. Many of them are adjustable in height, simply remove the HOTAS when stowing the shelf away.

Right now I have T-Flight X Hotas.
So it's connected with a fairly short cable I'd have to splice I guess.

Any ideas on this.

May be getting the T.1600 in soon which would solve the problem :)
