MIDI controller

So I've got this MIDI controller, a Traktor F1:

And I was wondering if I could use it in conjunction with my Saitek X52

I have a MIDI translator app that captures the MIDI ins and converts them to keystrokes etc, so I know I can use it as a simple keypad, but I'd really like to make use of the faders and knobs somehow. Has anyone done this sort of thing before? If so, what did you come up with?

For my flight sim games I have the MFDs and a nice cougar hotas with the FSSB mods so no stick movements.
And I also have a logitech G13.

But this thing looks neat. I need to get back into making music so this would be nice to have it a duel use for sure.

For the faders you'd want to set up the equivalent of an AD (analogue to digital) conversion presumably? Couple of systems that jump to my mind would obviously be throttle, scanner zoom or if you were being really clever, on seismic charges for mining? Could you set the trigger delay for low medium and high charge? There are some AX or guardian type weapons that also use this secondary input (how long you hold the trigger to set charge strength) I believe. Would 0 count as instant reease of trigger, Max for 'hold for one second and then release' in an autohotkey macro?

Totally do-able. I used to control all kinds of mad things like variables in a flash file running between processing and resolume to mix live video, mostly because I enjoyed setting it all up.

Joytokey, vjoy, various mad midi conversion softwares you'll find if you start googling. Just have a look and mess about till it works.

Hello Commanders!

Long time listener first time poster....

Resurrecting a thread here, but does anyone have a tutorial of a successful MIDI Controller set up using any of the MIDI to virtual Joystick software options available?

Im going round in circles trying to map a Maschine Jam in MIDI mode to various controls in ED. More specifically I'm trying to map a fader to Throttle Axis but having no joy at all.

This video shows that it must be possible but it's currently beyond me: Using a DJ controller with Elite Dangerous

Hope all are safe and well out there,

No specifics - but firstly just look for software that can convert you midi controllers inputs, to any kind of joystick/pad inputs.

That's all you'll need to do.

Here's something that a quick google search turned up. Looks like at a glance, it should be what you need.

Or, you could try using GlovePIE and PPJoy
