Military/Prior Service Only Group

Just some FYI in case some do not know. We are trying to increase our faction influence to become the controlling faction in the system. While any faction other than MM is in control of IBold station(system), please do not bounty hunt anywhere in the system, this give influence to faction in control of station(system), especially when cashing in.

Also; I have not tested the following yet, but I have read somewhere that if you accept missions from controlling faction and then abandon or do an alternative end to them, it will reduce that faction's influence. Again, NOT TESTED YET.
If anyone has more to add to aid in bringing us into control, please by all means, do so!

Agreed hawk. There is a bug atm where we have largest % of influence in system but we lost control of station so for now I won't be bounty hunting.

So hitting high rez sites and killing wanted ships aligned to the controlling faction will increase that factions control?

If this article is accurate, we need control of all the minor stations and/or outposts that are owned by The Bureau before we can take and hold the control station.

Influence

...
If a faction gets a majority within a system they have a chance of taking the system over given that certain thresholds are met during a civil war. One of the thresholds include that minor stations and outposts owned by the controlling faction will need to be taken over first before the system's controlling station can be taken over.[6] Another threshold is that the controlling station needs to be one of the stations in a civil war.[7] A civil war is the only way for a faction to become the controlling faction for a system.[7] The winning faction will be changing, or remain, the system's global faction to what the faction supports and changing the ownership of the controlling station.

Gaining influence

To increase a faction's influence players should focus on performing the following tasks:

 • Completing missions for a faction,
 • Trading with faction owned stations or outposts,
 • Turning in bounty vouchers,[9]
 • Turning in combat bonds and,[10]
 • Selling exploration data,[11]
For those wanting to get a minority faction into power there's a valid strategy to decrease the influence of the leading faction by performing any actions from the following list:

 • Completing a mission's alternate option given through Unidentified Signal Sources
 • Abandoning or failing missions accepted from a specific faction
 • Doing charity missions (this shows the faction is weak to the other factions)[citation needed]
Unlike regular missions, Charity Missions denote that a faction is weak compared to other factions and require donations. These missions are denoted by a hand icon with a medical cross and often reward reputation gains but no monetary reward.
Bounty Hunting within a system will reward influence to the controlling faction. This is good if you're attempting to strengthen the dominant faction within a system. However, if you're attempting to improve the influence of a smaller party this will prove to work against you.

[h=4]Civil War[/h]
Triggered by changes in influence between competing minor factions or when a single minor faction reaches a high enough influence level. Generates Conflict Zones and only combat missions or actions provide any benefit to the minor faction.[15]
Civil War can not be triggered by a faction with less than 5% influence in a system, however any minor faction above 5% can start a civil war with a minor faction below 5%. If a minor faction has greater than 70% of influence, a Civil War will automatically start between the minor faction and the controlling faction unless one of those factions is already engaged in a Civil War elsewhere.[nb 1][20][21][22]
If one of the current effects on a faction is Lockdown while trying to cause Civil War one can do bounty hunting to reduce the Lockdown time.[23]
After a civil war is triggered there is a cooldown of 3 days before another civil war can occur.

The charity thing is confusing as hell, but overall looks like we need to control the outposts first? Beast article bro. Thanks for posting.

The whole process is convoluted as hell. But, from what I can tell, we're sitting pretty decently right now. Looks like as of this morning we're no longer in a Civil War, which means we won't be able take control of any of their assets until at least Sunday morning (after the Civil War's "cooldown" period is over). What I'd recommend is continue to grind influence, aiming for at least 70% influence before Sunday morning. In addition, subvert all other factions as much as possible. That way, once Sunday morning comes around, we'll automatically enter into Civil War with The Bureau.

Once the Civil War starts, obviously continue to complete as many MM missions as possible and subvert The Bureau to the maximum extent possible. If you're going to hit CZs, start with the CZs near Navigator (should be A5) so we can take control of it as soon as possible. Once our name is on the door of Navigator, shift focus to the CZs near Ibold, preferrably A1, until we hold that as well

Luckily, we shouldn't have to worry about taking al-Khowarizmi as it's owned by Conseratives of HIP, not The Bureau.

Avoid bounty hunting in-system as it only will bolster The Bureau, regardless of the wanted individual's faction.

Assuming we can accomplish all of that, we should take firm control of the system once that Civil War officially ends.

Our hard work is paying off fellas. We are number 1 in system influence. Abandoning or failing missions accepted from a specific faction is definitely confirmed to reduce faction reputation and influence. Anyone have any ideas for tonight?

Maybe wing up and hit conflict zones?

Faction strategy guide:
1) Kill everything not MM in system. ESPECIALLY focus on system authority for the bureau. Civilians are targets as well. Gain bounty with all other factions to decrease influence and reputation.
2) Take and complete MM missions from Ibold and enterprise. Also, Aloha snackbar (far station) if you want to.
3) Accept and then abandon all other faction missions (works very well for decreasing reputation, not sure yet about influence)

Your Mission Should you Choose to Accept...

Mission for tonight is not for the weak. Bring your combat ship. Just warning you before hand.

Basically we are all going to kill all Bureau system authority at Ibold until we take back control! I've had it with the five oh always harassing us. Oh its time to riot. FTP!!! Meet up is same time same place. You guys know the drill.

Just FYI, I honestly praise police for the work they do every day. This post is related directly to those interdicting A holes a.k.a. system authority.

As of this morning, The Bureau still holds Ibold. However, MM's influence is up to 44%. Still have some work to do, but right now, The Bureau and The Conservatives are both tied at 16% influence. We'll need to relieve them both of some more influence if we want to hit that 70% mark to force Civil War.

You cannot join up as a civilian without a MM member backer. I've heard questionable things about you. Not sure if they are true or not.
Commander tugg told to sign up here, and what do you mean questionable things? I'm pretty sure I haven't done anything wrong.
