Millennium 2.2

Anyone remember this classic from 1989? Don't think I played until the early 90's but just wondering. I thought it was a great game and was looking to try and find a source so I can play it again...:)

Millennium 2.2 is a resource management computer game by Ian Bird, released in 1989 for Atari ST, Amiga and DOS. The DOS version of the game was released as Millennium: Return to Earth. It is the forerunner to Deuteros, which is in many ways a similar resource management game but many times larger and harder than Millennium 2.2.

I loved the way I'd do a task and just as it was getting a bit tedious the science chap would pop up and tell me he could automate it for me.

I finished both. Deuteros took weeks.

Thanks for all the replies, missed out on Deuteros, so will need to keep an eye out for that as well.

Cheers!

Bought Millennium 2.2 for the Atari ST off some dodgy trader at a car boot sale. Was gutted when I got home and found that the second disk in the box was for a completely different game.

Yeah, the site that it links to doesn't seem to exist any more. Hopefully some kind soul has already downloaded it and will upload it to some free hosting site.

Yeah saw that, but none of the download links seem to work... :S

But thanks anyway.

Oops, I didn't check if the link leads to an actual download...

Do not despair, Googling "millenium 2.2 remake" gave this : http://www.demonews.com/download-3117.html#.U0sXQ7UQ-JA

Downloaded, looks like the genuine article. :)

EDIT: and works like a charm (Win7 64bit)

Loved "Millennium 2.2" and it's haunting intro music... that and the fabulous "Supremacy" -and "Elite" obviously!- they were among the few games I actually completed on the ST ... oh yeah, and the oh-so nutty "Captain Blood" ... if only the official remake seemed to be progressing! digitized Jean-Michel Jarre music, making crazy jibber-jabber with (sometimes naked) aliens and with a smattering of vector planet landings was just a wonderful mix back in its day! :D

Shame the remake link is dead. I was feeling nostalgic last week though and did find that the SainT emulator is still active and apparently if you can dust off some original floppy disks & have a drive it'll even boot them up these days! May have to give that a go!

[Edit] Ooh download linky... thanks too Zieman!

Milleniumn 2.2 and the sequel 3.3 are utterly fantastic games. I still play them now on the Amiga. There is one available that has been remade that people have spoken about here, well sort of remade, it might have been at retroremakes. There is a lot of interesting stuff there.

The soothing hum of a mark 10 power generator....

i miss those sounds on the remake, really need an amiga emulator for that

I played this for the first time only recently, during a game of "Load a random Amiga game you've never heard of". I stayed up all night and finished the game in one sitting! I plan to give Deuteros a go when I've recovered :).
