Horizons Mines, mes amis, mines!

The answer to unwanted interdictions, is to make the pirates eat mines!

In seven interdictions, one by a wing, all pursuers were destroyed.

I love dropping mines out my AspX!

I'm sad to report that I think they are OP at this point, as the NPCs just fly on your six and eat them without complaint.

I would like to see a better mechanic, one wherein folks wanting to avoid (most) unwanted intedictions can do so, as well as one where NPC won't faceplant into your mines like total morons :)

Despite that, I'm happy that you've found a method of making your gametime more enjoyable.

I gave this a try and it did not work for me still got chewed up by several Dropships/Gunships/FAS might be a ship size thing some avoid better than others or it has been nurffed like everything else that gives human players an edge.

THis will work every time if you just do this:

1. Get 4 mine launchers and 1 or 2 chaff launchers
2. Submit to the interdiction.
3. ALl pips to engines, chaff and boost boost boost in a straight line, may have to rotate a touch so the NPC is directly behind you. This is important, they have to be directly behind you in the same plane, if their ship is just a little off axis in the display they won't hit the mines.
4. Launch mines over and over and watch his shields and then hull die. Using this approach I can kill any interdictor in my smuggling asp with class 3 shields... Really a terrible solution to the interdiction problem (elite npc-modded ships interdicting weak traders, what other chance do you have - there's not enough time to drop cargo before they destroy you unless you bind jettison all cargo to a key, and then what's the point, you'll never complete a run). So for now, mines are the answer and yeah my aspx should not be able to kill elite anacondas, elite FDLs, elite gunships, but it does EVERY TIME this way.

Here's a VJ video showing the technique.
