Minimum jump range required to make it to Beagle Point?

Hi - I'm just toying with the idea of taking something stupid like an imperial courier/clipper out on an expedition to beagle point, and I was wondering what is the minimum jump range I'd need to get across the ever increasing gaps between stars that far out?

Thanks for the replies guys, so something like https://eddp.co/u/BGp4QD1H - which is basically a stripped out clipper with a good FSD G5 extended jump range roll applied in EDCD's version of coriolis, should get there :)

yeah it would... but I would do this

Shave off some more weight, take some shields for landing (its not like you haven't got the slots!) and bang in a AFMU but leave it powered off until required

I did this to get maximum jump range with clipper.

Range may be good but... cargo rack and docking computer?? Well, to each their own I guess.

I would consider taking an AFMU and a Planetary Vehicle Hangar in stead of those two.
You may have a shorter range but it's far more practical for explorers.

I write this as an advice to the OP.

I fly with docking a computer too. After several months away from Bubble docking skills can significantly deteriorate. I dont want to re-learn how to dock with 200+mln CR exploration data on board, weak shields and downgraded engines. On other hand docking computer doesnt affect jump range (doesnt have weight) and can be turned off so it doesnt generate heat.

Re AFMUs, i took two of these to BP and back trip. Never used any of them.

So basically everything depends on pilot's flying style and preferences.

This is obviously self-evident, but perhaps something to be mindful of...the shorter the jump-range of the ship = the greater the number of individual Jumps on the journey to BP...and back again.

My ship, a 27.47LY Type-6, made thousands of jumps (well, three thousand, anyway) on the way to BP...and I am now making many (yep, that'll be between three and four) thousands more on the way back.

After a while, this can get you down...a bit.

Flying a bit wide-eyed

I'm about to hit 29,000 jumps for my trip - I'm currently wondering whether or not to get a bit circuitous on the last leg just to get it up to a nice round 30k :)

The danger there is that, for me, 30k isn't a "nice enough" round number.

Now, 50k would be...

I forgot to remove the docking computer but that is where vehicle hangar can go and the extra empty slot is for what ever you want to put in.

The important bit is that you dont need more than 3d power distributor, 3d shield generator and 2a power plant if you can modify it to suit your needs.
