Mining Question: Do deep core, fissure roids spawn everywhere? Or only hotspots

If you don't care what you get from the blow-up-able rocks, do you really need DSS?

I want to build a small mining ship and that extra slot is right ⚽ ache!

Everywhere. I didn't even look for hotspots for my first few mining trips after the update (hadn't worked that bit out!). I'm still not convinced that I do better at hotspots, either!

I applaud the OP's determination but it has to be said that it's an entirely pointless exercise, given that a single mining trip in a sub-optimal Cobra 3 will easily get you enough credits to buy an AspX which, in turn, can earn you enough to buy and outfit a Python with a couple of hours mining.

Also, this is why FDev need to come up with a proper reason for folks to fly small ships.

Also, also, this is why FDev need to come up with a non-exclusive substitute for the CM4.

In that case you do not need a DSS, it is more important to find a good market as all the new core minerals generally tend to go up and down in price together. Painite and LTD seem to follow different conditions for setting prices and may need to be sold at another location to get good prices (but are also not new minerals).

Or if you find a station buying VO for max prices whatever mineral you find will also likely be at a very elevated price if it is one of the new core minerals.

One trip in each ship Cobra, AspX, you can get a good python.

You'll find them everywhere, in fact the non hotspot core frequency is the same as in hotspot. However the hotspot tends to produce 50%+ of cores being the named mineral, more random outside the HS.
