To start, 2 mining lasers! Lol.
I can't post from Coriolis, but I believe the optimal setup can hold 68T of cargo, have a class 3 shield, two collector limpets, 1 prospector limpet.
Just spit balling from memory...this build is decent, but the small mining lasers drove me crazy!

This is pretty much my exact build for the Type 6. Make sure your Refinery can hold about 4 or 5 bins (certain I can hold 5 with mine)
I chose to opt out the 4T cargo rack - so reduced down to 64T - in favour of a ... Docking Computer ... When I'm loaded up with 60 - 64Ts of the 3 Ps, I don't want to worrying about landing and mucking up. So pop on the Computer, stop using the force and commence Dock
You should downgrade your thrusters so you are easier to cat.. I mean power draw and more cash to spend.
Ah yes, that reminds me - A rate your Plant and Power Distributor - don't think its all that much for Type 6s! - helps with the power draw on lasers. Although I can't remember if the Power Plant just affects how much output you have and its solely down to your distributor? Defo A rated Distributor
And Error, surely a Type 6 is as easy to catch as me underarm throwing a football to you from 5 feet?

It's easy to miss that on a T6 if you want two collector limpet controllers that actually match in class you can reach a 64T cargo capacity and have a class 4 shield.
The power use on that looks a bit unwieldly, but use priority management and you can have your chaff tucked away mining but if something decides you look tasty you have the option to put hardpoints away, run (well crawl) off and be able to chaff while FSD charges. I just cba to set the priorities like I would in game. That said, a T6 miner is something I would avoid open in like the plague.

this type6 is okay for running away from npc pirates, but it doesn't have a weapon to fight a pirate-spawn off. (anyway, it is a t6)

Hey, they're only of minimal importance to mining. See, if you use a cargo hold instead of a refinery, you can keep all that ore in your cargo hold - and anywhere else on the ship, including tucked under the seats and in the air vents - and just buy a refinery when you get back to station to melt it all down. Moar cargo=moar win.
Buy a cobra. No shields build is better than a type six. Better mining lasers. Faster mining means more mining. If u want protection my gt is RJ KILLYOU, shoot me a msg

I've mined a lot on my Cobra, but my build was having 2xsmall mining lasers and some defensive weaponry (med G-beam / med MC) as I was travelling across various systems in order to gather more BB mining-related missions (i.e. "finding painite is a pain" and so on) and, occasionally, small delivery BB missions. I don't have my build at hand as I'm using the ship for rare trading now... I had 5 bins refinery, collector and prospector (prospector can be dropped for more cargo space, as mine had only 32T).
At the end I enjoyed that time... mining was relaxing (it took 1hr or so to deplete limpets and fill my cargo) then another hr or so travelling around... doing BB missions, small cargo deliveries and some small dog fights in the meanwhile (unless I had to flee vs. bigger ships).
I miss that... once I'll get rid of my bounties (yeh, I made some... errr... "mistakes"
) I'll make a come back and mining a little more (perhaps using an ASP-E).Edit, was something like this:

Mining was anyway slow (plus I had to disable some modules when travelling)... but at least I was not in danger vs. NPC pirates (decent weapons and enough speed).

On a type six u only have 2 type 1 mining lasers. The cobra has 2 type 2 mining lasers. Have u tried Mining with 2 type 1's before, it's painfully slow. When I mine in my cobra, I've depleted one rock and prospected another before my limpets were done scooping up even HALF of the first rock. When I get home I'll list the build for you. And jw, do u really wanna know or are u breaking my balls lol
I just can't see how a Cobra would be quicker at mining than a Type6 would be. Its not got enough internal compartments for the collector limpets AND the cargo.
