Mining Tritium near Colonia

I’m trying to figure out if it’s a bug or the latest patch really depleted hotspots around the Colonia area. Regardless of the type of hotspot (LTD, Tritium, etc.), my pulse wave analyzer picks up VERY few asteroids, and when I find one, NONE of them have the material that is labeled on the hotspot. I only get useless materials. I’ve wasted countless hours and hundreds of limpets just trying to find tritium to get the heck out of there? Any advice?

Are you aware of the current "malfunction" of the pulse wave analyser?
Anything in front of you won't light up but when you turn around flying back where you came from you'll see the yellow rocks.
Best practice for me is to switch to outside view, fire the pulse wave and look around 360 degrees. Having said that, I dont go for Tritium hotspots but rather for VO, LTD or Grandiderite hotspots.. my impression is that most of those core rocks usually have various Tritium subsurface deposits.

No need to use pulse wave for tritium. Also why bother mining H3? Mine painite, use those credits to purchase Tritium from Carriers, way faster and more lucrative.

The only reason to mine tritium is if you are nowhere near any inhabited systems.

Thanks for the tip on the pulse wave. I’ll use that trick. As for mining the other minerals, I find nothing at all regardless of how many asteroids I scan with the prospecter limpet. If I’m in a Grandiderite hotspot, there are no surface/subsurface deposits at all, just useless things like Rutile, Bauxite, Methane, Oxygen. Literally hundreds of asteroids scanned in an “Grandiderite hotspot” with zero yield and I’ve tried at least a dozen different systems around Colonia.

I’m way out in the Colonia region so purchasing Tritium is not an option. All the hotspots for Painite, Alexandrite, etc. have yielded zero minerals at all. It’s very much acting like a bug. The only thing I find is useless minerals like methane, oxygen, bauxite, etc.

I tanker fuel out to Colonia on a weekly basis, there are plenty of carriers out there selling tritium and buying painite, you can check the markets yourself on Inara. I spent nearly a billion credits buying painite of miners last week, shipping it back to the bubble for a profit.

You don't need a PWS to mine for Tritium or Painite. As mentioned, your best bet is to sell Painite to Carriers (strip mine it) and then buy tritium from carriers that have shipped from the Bubble.

I ship around 10,000 tonnes of Tritium a week to Colonia.

Awesome, thank you!
