Missiles firing....backwards?!

So, I'm trying out missiles for the first time, and in the midst of fighting an anaconda, my missiles seemed to stop working. Later on, looking at the radar, I realized that the missiles were, in fact, shooting directly backwards, rather than forward. I later confirmed this by aiming directly away from a ship and firing...

Any idea what causes this? Maybe some key I've not noticed? I love missiles, but this is driving me poor/dead.
 
80% of the time, they fire directly forward. They also happen to be called 'missile pack' in my modules.

Yeah well, pretty sure that means they're not mines. :) Be cool for when you have a bad guy on your tail and you're having a turning competition. :)
 
Yea, I believe they are bugged. I have been experiencing the same exact thing. I filed a ticket earlier so hopefully it gets looked at. Still gonna use them, even though last time it happened I was fighting a Conda and got it down to 5% hull. Ran out of missiles and was left with only my beams. 20 mins later I was able to drop him.

God I hope they fix them soon.
 
Missiles in this game seem to be very, very ... strange. Sometimes when an NPC Anaconda is a few km behind me and fires a missile, the missile will spawn in front of me and come racing towards me. Good thing those things don't harm shields much.

I'm sure the behavior of missiles can be explained using Imagination, though!

Oh, and this backwards firing at least makes this game a little bit more true to its trailer.

Also bugged on the python, once reloaded they will not fire (count would go down but no missile will leave the bay)
 
It's a bug with both the guided and unguided missiles. I know for certain the Size 2 ones do, typically towards the end of the ammunition you have stored. The last 6 or 8 missiles you shoot for some reason go in reverse.
 
Mines do this as well. I started using them on my Type 6, and I've noticed that once they get 3km behind me they teleport to 3km in front of me. I put in a ticket a few days ago, but I don't think support has looked at it yet.
