I decided to buy the odyssey apps, I log in with the apps, and for some reason I have the old amount of credits and my old ship, I log in to legacy horizons and everything is fine, what should I do?
Just to clarify, I can still log into my regular Horizons game to team up with buddies that don't have Odyssey right? I mean, it's only if I go the Legacy Horizons route (is that it's formal name?) that I'd be on a separate account in effect? I only have Odyssey installed, it's the only version I've had in a while. However, a friend picked up the base game last year and he asked me to team up at some point... I did suggest he get Odyssey in the Steam sale (dunno if it's still cheap) but don't think he did - distracted by other games at the time.
Yes, you can log into Horizons 4.0 the current versions and play with friends who have purchased Horizons 4.0. The Legacy version is 3.8. You can't crossplay between Odyssey 4.0 and Horizons 4.0, so if you both want to land on atmospheric planets he will need to get Odyssey, but Horizons 4.0 will give him a good taste of what he will get.
Thanks for clarifying. I think I did know that once, but it's been a while since I thought about it. Horizons 4.0 has the "Odyssey" UI doesn't it? Last time I flipped between the two - both "live" at the time - Horizons was still on the older UI, so it took a moment to adjust.
Yep, Legacy has the, umm, legacy UI still, but both Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey 4.0 are identical except for the restrictions on accessing Odyssey stuff.
Just one more thing, I don't think they need to "purchase" Horizons 4.0. Everyone on PC who owns Elite has that.Yes, you can log into Horizons 4.0 the current versions and play with friends who have purchased Horizons 4.0. [...]
