Missing twist axis on my T16000 in Odyssey

I know it's not a hardware issue because the standard Windows dialogue for the USB game controller picks up the roll axis just fine as it always did. But when mapping this (or trying to) in flight controls it simply never detects that the axis is being moved.
Incidentally, Odyssey trashed both my existing Joystick mappings and the keyboard/mouse ones I had set up when playing (attempting to) the Alpha.
Anyone else seen this or have a solution?

My bindings came across from alpha almost intact, just had to bind the UI panel stuff again.
I have a t16000m and twist still works, so it’s limited to your setup. Try shutting down the game, unplugging, plugging back in and trying again.

I have the t16000m, too, but I haven't had any issues with it: all the bindings came unmodified from horizons and alpha.
If the game does not detect the axis perhaps you could try unplugging and re-plugging the joystick, as suggested above?

Update and conclusion - I think the hardware is 'twitchy'. Is now working intermittently after a couple of reboots and plug/unplug cycles, but is either not picked up, starts with a permanent 'right twist' or a very slow right twist (that last fixed by setting deadzone). Thanks all for the responses and suggestions.

Sounds like the Potentiometer is going bad/ is too dirty. Sadly it's a very common issue with the t16000m. I finally fixed mine for good by replacing it with a hall sensor and magnet, but that involves disassembly and soldering and lots and lots of fiddling to get it just right. You can get by with just some cleaning, google the issue and there's a few posts on redit and here about it.

It keeps resetting to Keyboard and Mouse for me (usually when I've switched between Horizons and Odyssey), but it does pick up all the correct bindings when I change it back to Custom. I did need to reset my foot bindings in release (the alpha ones were lost), but I've only had to do it once.
