Hi there,

The hidden contact inbox message is caused by the mission wishing to send a message upon failure and not finding any of the content it wants to send, so it just puts in the defaults.

if a mission doesn't want to send an inbox upon failure, you won't see one.

Whenever I read this Thread title I can't stop from thinking about the Metal Gear Solid jingle "Mission Failed" followed by the gunshot!

I haven't had one of these in weeks.. but then, I haven't taken a mission in weeks either. I've found something else to distract myself with for the time being.
But it's good to hear a fix is in the works.

I dunno if it's a coincidence but I don't seem to be able to go more than, literally, 2 minutes without getting a "disconnected from matchmaking server" error.

I mention it here because I seem to be able to force the error to occur by going to the mission board and deliberately accepting 3 or 4 missions in quick succession.

I also don't think insta-fails have ever effected my rep either...

But they certainly are a PITA and a major disappointment! Nothing like dumping a 3.5 mil 1-hop palladium mission on the pad...

It has never effected my rep and I've never actually RECEIVED a fine that I had to pay, but my "total fines" stat keeps climbing and it seems related to insta-failed missions. I've looked at my journal in EDDiscovery, since October there are like 26 fines in there. Yet in just the last month my "total fines" number has gone up over 100. I RP as a fairly law abiding citizen, so when I get a legitimate fine, even for a traffic violation, I take it pretty seriously.

And then my issue with the 3 ejected passengers, I just can't figure out how that happened. I KNOW I got paid for every passenger mission I've ever done. I don't remember ever being told that a passenger was unhappy. So, my assumption is that I had a sightseeing mission insta-fail and that caused my 3 ejected passengers.

FYI:

Looks like the server side code update may have fixed this issue!

I was grinding for at least 8hrs yesterday (about 70 mil worth!) in a very popular location and never got a SINGLE insta-fail mission!

I can't justify trying to use your software if it means I may not be able to use your software. I haven't played since my original post on a different thread on 11/01/2017... and I'm really starting to miss ED.
