Mission Requirement: Python

I've always thought that the medium pads on outposts should not have to rotate unless you were going into the hanger.

I've never understood why anything needs to rotate at all. I'm flying a spaceship, it can take off in any direction...

And the landing is pad is pretty an airport runway

Imagine the congestion if loading can be done on landing pad.

Thats equivalent of unloading cargo from a cargo plane while its still on the middle of busy airport runway

Your ship blocks the pad anyway, whether it is docked (underneath) or on top.

I believe the ships are stored in different levels under the pad, is kinda does not make sense if one pad is occupied by cmdr whether underneath or not.

I mean you have elevator car park in japan

The fact there are holes that lead to the bottom that is not textured kind gives it away.

And why no ship come in after you took the spot? The devs probably did not model it and entering the hangar act like entering another room, or else why does it need a loading indicator

Other ships cant use the pad, theres only one hanger, only one ship can use it at a time, so sitting inside does not free up the pad for other ships. I dont think many people realise this judging by how long they hog the medium pads at outposts.

I think it should be shareable but then youd get people parking on the pad and trapping you inside. I'm not sure the reason why it rotates unless it has something to do with shipping lanes or something.

I found this out while trying to deliver data missions (in Mobius) while doing Fed ranking. Got tired of waiting on folks, so I switched over to Solo.

Now thats sad. It looks like they are design like a japanese car elevator.... but not.... meh

They literally have 2 landing pads that rotated one ship... Most likely so that if you enter hangar and log out, there is already a pad for another ship. I just want another medium cargo option. I love my python, however there is a big damn disparity between multirole ships up to the python, and there isnt any cargo ship to fill that gap in haulage missions. As a consumate newb trainer, I find it a bit aggravating trying to find the right ship matches for my trainees. This wasn't an issue until the slapstick hotfix for the sothis/ceos cargo missions. I get that the missions were difficult to balance, but the haulage missions in bubble are largely asinine now. If a mission is going to specify medium pad and 180T etc. it might as well just get updated to say 'Python'.

I just think adjusting the height (even it its literally adjusting the games values to scale it down entire by .92) that would open up a whole lot more of the missions to those working thorugh trucking rather than grinding out max cash/hour cheese missions. So much of the game, specifically mining platform type missions, would be accessible to lower income players enjoying their trucking or mining.

Just thought it was an odd and likely unintentional oversight. 'Tis whut 'tis is. Just thought it would be a nice change.

I've never understood why I have to take the load all in 1 trip. I've usually got 24 hours to complete the cargo delivery. Why can't I do it in my AspX in 2 or 3 trips (as long as I deliver all the cargo in the required timeframe)?

its merely for convinience,

You want realism? in reality, trading is not as easy as buy then sell.

Alot of like custom, taxes, permit, documentation. And yet they are not in the game even if you buy from one superpower system and sell it to another.

As a person working in logistic sector, the game already broke the realism when i can buy and sell without any preparation

Common sense dictate that unloading out in the open is also a safety hazard.

Imagine that drifted cargo cause a major accident.

get out of here with this nonsense, this is not a valid argument against improving the gameplay

I guess the second level down is more for long term storage when you swap ships.

If you haven't got a Python yet then you should definitely get one. Be warned though, it's one of those ships that is so good at just about everything that you'll have a hard time leaving it.

Nope. Have you never got stuck waiting for another commander to clear the only medium pad at an outpost? There is only one level.

Love my Python. One of the reasons why I keep playing this game.

But I agree that the Type-7 should be a medium sized ship. Along with the Clipper. More choices the better.

Although personally I still wouldn't fly the other 2. Maybe the Clipper.

Have fun, fly safe. o7

P.S.: Still debating the gold option. The ice paint job is perfect. But am currently fly with the Black paint job as it fits her current ship kit mods.

If there were ever a time when I had to choose one ship, and one ship only, to play elite with I would keep my python. Imagine it with a hangar bay and 2 more utilities... most OP ship ever.

Are you seriously discussing pad realism? There isn't any, not even the tiniest bit. Land in a Sidey, switch to your stored Python, and what happens?

Personally, I'm pretty damned happy it doesn't make me specifically request a medium pad when I want to switch up sizes, or tell me I can't leave the hangar because someone's on my pad (for the next hour), etc.

It maybe not be 100% immersive, but we play this thing because it's fun, not because it's an awesome simulation of the irritations and disappointments of everyday life. Immersion can kiss my saddle sore explorer's bottom if less realism = more fun, or at least less annoyance.
