Mission Time limits

Once you complete a mission the timer should stop.

I was working on missions for engineering mat's last night and had completed 4 of them, but life being life and all, suddenly had to log off and go.

Instead of logging in to go turn them in today, I got 200k in fines for the power regulators that "GOT INSTALLED!!!" and my rep in system is now unfriendly because all the missions that I had completed failed and dropped my rep because I couldn't go turn them in.

Kinda bummed on that one.

Yup it’s a bummer. I’d switch systems while it’s still unfriendly, having completed missions you can’t hand in because they’ve tipped to hostile due to bugs is seriously frustrating.

Someone should be along shortly to help get your mind right. In the meantime, yes. Ship missions do exactly that. If I kill the pirate or the civis in the time table requested the mission is done and the timer stops. Only legs missions do you have to go running back to turn them in while still on the clock. Obviously if the mission is to "return something to me" then the continued timer makes sense.

Agreed, and generally the timer is way to short.

Had to abandon several missions because of real life challenges*

Definitely, not possibly. I had the bright idea to store engineering mats as "completed" missions (back in the good old days of total storage). Imagine my pleasure when they vanished.
funny you mention the materials, another thing that has a worse implementation in odyssey, when they could just use the existing(superior) system.
