As far as I understand everyone, even with its rarity no one who owns it wants to fly it. So where is the harm in opening it up to everybody?
In fact, it might be a good thing as then it would finally be worthwile to Frontier to create some paint jobs or ship kits for that thing.

You‘re right that the MkV makes the MkIV even more obsolete, but that makes it even more silly for it to stay unobtainable for all eternity.

I agree with keeping it rare and mysterious and exclusive, which is really what the fuss is about, whether or not it has any other merits as a ship.
