Saying that, I might be very tempted to start the game on the Founders world. Not in the spirit of the game, I hear some say? Well, I played Elite and Frontier to death as a kid and as a young man. I feel that my current middle aged self is the offspring to my earlier self which justifies my PRIVILGED start position.
I very well might change my mind about this but, at the moment, this is how I honestly feel.

I cannot help but agree technically we ARE the founders, especially as Elite became the basis for every space sim that came after...

(but I'm not going to merge my gloop with your gloop ty .. you can keep that to yourself (founders DS9))

If I may... Fer-de-Lance should really be hyphenated.
But might the name sound better as The Thargoid and Ferdie (Ferdie being the affectionate name for that ship).
