Modding Elite Dangerous?

No Offline mode = No Mods.

At least this is the rule for most permanent online game, any changes to the game would look/be like cheating.

I love mods and games that support them. Elite will loose a lot when they don't support mods.

There IS no offline mode, solo mode is still online. They announced a couple of weeks ago that they had stopped all development on an offline mode.

The original post was made over one year ago when offline mode was still on the cards. Someone resurrected a zombie thread instead of creating a new topic.

Everything is possible if you put your mind to it !
And lets call it and ad-don or even a symbiote if you prefer, I do not need to modify any of the game files so it should not trip the DRM.
all I need is a way to get the trading data I receive while actually trading and save it automatically.
This is only one step up from the player taking a pen and paper and writing down the info but without the loss of enjoyment that this task would bring.
Honestly it should have been incorporated in the game to begin with.
Your ship computer in the year 3000+ should at the very least be able to store that kind of data !!!

Anyway. I'll keep on trying, so if anybody has actual helpful ideas and tips, they would be greatly appreciated !

The most horrible thing in the universe is a space game that doesn't have a Star Wars mod.

Hear, hear!

... but give it time... there is time... ;)

Okay, so it's a YEAR ON from this post --- HAPPY NEW YEAR, everyone, by the way! --- and I'm new, and found the TRDs too... anyone direct me to an App I can feed my TRDs into? Thankies!

I think modding things like ship skins would probably be the first easy step to make into the devs allowing modding. The skins could be made so they are only visible to the client and anyone else that has downloaded it much like FSX allows, everyone else would see the default skin if they did not have the download. I used to do a lot of re-skinning of aircraft in Flight Simulator and DCS. Creating custom skins would however remove a source of cash for FD.
