Modepro.lha ?

Firstly I'm trying to re-learn the Amiga.
I've asked a few questions about graphics.
I see post recommending installing Modepro.lha !!!!! I've downloaded it on my PC to a desktop file, how do I get it from there to my Amiga 1200? I have an external floppy drive in my PC but it doesn't recognise Amiga disk's, if I format it on PC the Amiga 1200 doesn't recognise it. ???????????

In /Storage/Dosdrivers, copy/move the PC0 or PC1 icon to the /Devs/dosdrivers drawer then reboot

IF you moved PC0 your miggy should be able to read a 720k PC formatted disk in the internal drive as PC0:

If you moved PC1 then the external drive will read the PC 720k disk as PC1:

LCD, comp yellow red white. And it's the same through RF Modulator.
So an LCD TV then?

I think that is your whole issue. I have similar problems with my A4000 RGB out via A520 adapter.

TBH I'm not sure Mode Pro is going to help you, even if it does work, as jojon said above. A better video solution would probably help a lot more.

But lets give it a shot.

Does your miggy have a hard drive or CF card or are you running floppies only?

If it is a TV of the right age, you might perhaps want to google schematics for a RGB Amiga video (23-pin DSUB) to Scart adapter cable.
If it is an old multiscan monitor, there is the same for adapting to VGA (15-pin DSUB).

It may still be possible to find ready-made ones, for purchase...

BTW, this is very interesting. Its the first time I've seen Amiga stuff in these forums, but I have only been on the forums for less than 5 months. So. 🤷‍♂️

For other video options that might be useful to you, at various price ranges from 50 to 200 EURO.

There are these VGA scandoubler/flickerfixers on the expensive high end which are available now from a designer/manufacturer in Germany (I can't personally vouch for their stuff but I hear good things about it):

and these videos about other possibly available possibly cheaper options:

I did have a hard drive with 15 years of gaming on it, but it died and I lost everything. I've put a CF Card conversion and ROM upgrade with my original expansion card.
I have a 23 pin with st/ audio to scart cable but can't get anything through it, it's like the VGA out has stopped working, even with VGA only driver in DEVS/MONITOR box. Which brings another question, am I doing it right?
What is the correct method to get VGA out?
BTW, I do have a LED monitor also which I did get workbench working on in 30Hz but not games (before VGA stopped).

Old HDDs die and CF is one of the better ways to proceed.

🤷‍♂️ All of my Amigas are big box and I have various graphics cards for them that provide VGA out. I've never used SCART as I'm in the US and it was never a standard here.

Its possible that your SCART cable is damaged and may be fixable if you can open it and test it. Could simply be a broken wire. Given that the color composite output works I'd say the issue is likely not with the 1200.

Is the SCART a simple cable or does it also do some conversion of the signals?

Pretty much anything I know about it will be in the videos/websites in my last post above as I only ever used my 1200 with a multiscan CRT back in the day, before the 1200 died.

What region of the world are you in? I may be able to help you out if you're close to me but I suspect you aren't. If you're in the UK/Europe there are much better resources available to help you.

You might want to try getting help on either "English Amiga Board" or "Amibay". People there can usually point you to repair people near you.

I've just bought a new cable, but still the same.
Yes I'm UK based, I'll try who you suggested.
The question was more, which files do I move from Storage to Devs monitor box to get VGA? Or is it automatic?

That kind of stuff has always been black magic to me and I don't think I've gotten "VGA Only" to ever work AFAIK. The folks over at EAB should be able to help you with that lickety split.

Using a hardware scandoubler/flickerfixer is a much, much easier, though more expensive, proposition. And that is the route I've always taken.

BTW, I bought a complete copy of FE2 from the UK on ebay earlier this year. It's nice to see others playing it.

Ok, I'll do some leg work have a few more sleepless nights. I'm sure I'll sort it.
BTW, I have 2 Copies of FE2 ,1 Original complete boxed, 1 hacked, so when the police ask page and letter just press any key, with 2 more galactic maps. Luckily I had floppy backups of FE2 saves, it took years to get my Rank's and Status.
