I think the mods have done a fantastic job... and I hope they come back, cos it's been a different place without them.

People are welcome to hate on the game or defend the game as long as it's done in a civil manner and is respectful of the forum rules and fellow posters.

"Constructive Negative Criticism" hmmm is that like "Jumbo Shrimp" or "Metal Wood"? Oxymorons all the way. I thank the mods for the great job they are doing, and limiting as little as they do.. Read some threads please, and see how they just snip PARTS if a post, not all of it... I'm just sayin...

Well done sirs Ian, Jenner, and Styggron, and all the designers, developers, and moderators that enter these forums. Also, last but by far the best, is the community itself, who are the most mature and tolerant group of adolescent gamers for their age, on the internet forums that I have met in 30 years :). Thank you all.

13. Insubordination
If you disagree with a moderator's course of action over an incident, whether that be the closing of a thread or the issuing of an infraction, you must contact a member of the moderation team privately (through private message) to voice your grievance(s), complaint(s), and/or concern(s). It is not permitted to do this in a public discussion medium. Any attempt to do so will be seen as an attempt to undermine the moderation team and will result in an infraction and removal of the content posted. If you disagree with a moderator's decision it is also not acceptable to verbally abuse or harass them, either through the forum or any other form of communication. Any attempt to do so may result in a complete termination of your account from the forums.


And they will take away your birthday too, no more birthdays for you, ever.
A complete termination of your account on the forum is the worst that they can do to you, so what are you worried about?! :)

yeah exactly, or Military Intelligence.

The real point here is simply that the moderation on these forums is completely XXXXXXXXXXXREDACTEDXXXXXXXX and the moderators themselves are a bunch of XXXXXXXXXGOOD GUYS AND GALSXXXXXXXXXXX.

They do a great job, you need to evaluate whatever it is that you posted that caused it to be deleted.
From what I've seen they are incredibly tolerant, so the blame lies with you alone.
Don't like it, don't use it.

The mods here have harassed me so frequently it borders on cyberbullying. They bring criticism on themselves.

EDIT : Sorry, got myself a bit confused. I often troll at the [redacted] and I'm incessantly dogged by the mods there. The mods here are fine. Less trigger happy than a lot of other forums.

Having spent quite a few years on the old Elitist Jerks forums, I'm currently laughing at everyone that thinks the Moderation here is "heavy handed".

Don't tell me, you posted a rude rant and it got removed? Well, good, I'm glad to see the mods removed such annoying rude rubbish before I reacted to it, made you cry and then had an infraction slapped on me. I win, I win, I win.

Some consistency would be nice. ie why is the OP(ost) still here?
I posted a while back to say I'd no longer be posting because the moderation was "not to my taste".
Why was that post removed and this one not?
(and yes, I know I'm posting now. It's because the forum is like this.)

I'll tell you what ruins the forums for me:
1. Overentitled rants about how the game isn't (yet) exactly the orgasmic experience that the poster feels he deserves; after all they had a whole day since his last complaint to make the code perfect and without bugs; if you don't like the game, don't play it. Come back in six months when it's done and the bugs have been worked out of the final release. Meanwhile remember that you did not commission a game; you contributed to the funding. There's a difference.
2. Complaints about moderation, because poster is not treated like the special little flower his mum always said he was. If you don't like the forums, don't post here!
