Tbh the devs should change some of the mods here as they don't do there job very well at all.

I'm pro MOD. TF They have a tough job, I just want consistency or an open view of change of it.

if you have a problem with a thread the best thing to do is report it, this creates a thread in the mods forum that all of them can see instead of a PM that can only be seen by the recipient.

Its multiplayer ( as evident by 31 other CMDR's in a zone with me) and it has PvP (as evident by the number of pirates and bounty hunters human players).

They things they contain in them are Private. I am perfect entirely to and well within the forum rules to mention another CMDR's handle in a PM for any reason. "Naming and shaming" is a rule that is enforced for threads and posts, not personal messages.

They things they contain in them are Private. I am perfect entirely to and well within the forum rules to mention another CMDR's handle in a PM for any reason. "Naming and shaming" is a rule that is enforced for threads and posts, not personal messages.

its the combination that's the issue, you cant post a thread offering a bounty on someone and ask people to PM you for the cmdr name as it amounts to the same as posting the name in the thread.

Yeah no. As a former Official forum moderator for a game title a number of years ago, this is not always the case.

Its a private message, not a general posting on the forums. Regardless of how it was obtained, the information within is private between the persons listed as sender and recipient in the message. Now if the sender was messaging in blocks and sending to multiple people at one time, essentially spamming the message that would be actionable.

we can disagree on the issue but the OP has already had a thread deleted for asking people to PM him to get the cmdr name so it looks like on THIS forum its a rule breach,

We do not permit the Frontier forums to be used for 'witch-hunts' or mob-mentality griefing. This is essentially the inverse of naming and shaming where people will try to bait others into ratting people out.
