Module Bays

I had always assumed the cargo containers were intermodal - as in all the same size and with ballast to get to the same weight to make handling easier - so we're not necessarily buying 1 tonne of anything, you're getting a container total mass 1T with some cargo in it.

For example, I see 1T of Imperial Slaves being one human plus a reasonably heavy and complicated series of life support machines.
1T of gold is some gold plus a load of security
1T of beer is just awesome to think about.

Not too sure what that adds, other than 'think they all have the same volume'.

A class 5 bay split into 2 Class 2 Bays sounds like you might be able to stuff in a couple more HRP's but...

A class 5 HRP gives you 390 Armor.
A Class 2 HRP gives you 190 Armor - two stuffed in a split bay gives 380 Armor. This is 10 less than a single class 5.
It's almost like they thought about this in the first place.

Of course, it's entirely possible that Reinforcement Packages would simply not be allowed in split bays, making them slight less that universal - which would be just as reasonable.

And if you engineer them? Resistence would be better on the two smaller modules, no? I like the idea of a module bay, but it should be limited to certain types of modules.

I think, generally, a module splitter for all non-combat related modules would be nice.
Other than that, I want for AFMUs to be able to repair themselves I guess? Is multi threading seriously not a thing in the future? Like, you’d at least espect people to embed a mini unit into it so it can also repair itself lol
