Newcomer / Intro Modules with "legal issues"

Hmm. I don't have the combat nous to see how this happened, but there you go.

It seems my Anaconda has all modules tagged with "legal issues" ("hot" modules?). Can't remember what system I picked that up in but I do remember MCing a cop who got in my way in a High RES. The other thing I remember is that the system only had one platform so, regardless of whether or not I could clear the issue at that pad, it's irrelevant as I can't land there.

I'm sure I've seen the answer somewhere but I how do I clear this "issues"?

you been there with the hot modules?

I can't land the ship - the only station in-system can't take a large ship. And I've just visited with a small ship to see if I can clear it that way but no luck. Do I need to find a station with large pads AND the faction I got the hot modules with?

Also note that briefly shooting a cop between your target won't do anything. I was had this happened while doing a massacre mission and I just got a voice "watch your fire CMDR". On the other hand, when I accidentally targeted a ship I thought was wanted but it was clean and fired 3 pulse laser shots before I noticed, I got wanted and sent myself to jail and posted of the fine of 400 cr.

And let that be a lesson to you.

Never shoot cops in a ship you can’t dock in that system, unless you have a conveniently placed base in an anarchy where you can switch from your ship of doom to a clean ship.

Accidental hits can get you in trouble if there are to many of them or they are too powerful, the tolerance of the police can depend on how you stand with their faction, as an ally you will get away with more.

If this is to me, I learned the lesson! Though I think the fine was pointlessly low...

I will always be the combat noob, learning such nuances as I go :D

Actually, one thing I forgot to mention: having such modules seriously degraded the value of the ship. So much so, the (mostly) fully A-rated Anaconda was worth less than my average Clipper.
