Money isn't everything (Anaconda's not all that)

I personally couldn't stand the type 7.. back when I was grinding for a clipper, I upgraded from my type 6 to one of those witching abortions of design, then immediately downgraded back to the type 6 again I hated it that much.

I love the adder but hate how badly it's been portrayed in this game. She was my go to ship for Frontier and First Encounters, whereas here she's just a uninteresting blob you want to get out of quickly and into a cobra

Biggest thing keeping me from an Anaconda compared to python is losing outposts. Single biggest asset of the Python (and the most OP, imo)

I have both, but yes, not having outposts as an option kinda bites. My Anaconda only gets used for very specific tasks.

Personally I hate the Asp. It's just 50-odd metres of spaceship with no personality whatsoever. It's a flying Morris Marina and should only be available in beige

Agree with this 100% - tried the AspX several times (did 6 Robigo runs in it) and HATED every minute of it. Also could not get into the FDL or the Python - I do bounty hunting and want a fighter so I keep ending up in a Vulture. Different strokes, different folks.

This...it seems that for whatever role you put it in, there is a ship that does it better. Though, shouldn't that be the true nature of a multi-role ship?

Granted, nothing beats it when optimized for extreme jump range, but, for my purposes, a stripped down hauler jumping 29ly is more than enough for getting places quickly.

I love the Anaconda, but I like the Cobra MK III, Imperial Courier and Clipper as well. The Imperial Cutter is my main ship, but I don't like the maneuverability as much as other ships...

Try an FAS when you have a chance. It flies like a Vulture with more punch. The Vulture does do just fine for PVE, though.

I hated the Hauler. I used one as a Taxi to consolidate some ships I had spread around the galaxy and hated every second. Next time I'll pick up a DBS/DBX/Cobra for a taxi instead.

Sorry but I am NOT going to grind for hours on end for another ship....just not going to do it.

The Anaconda is one of my favorite ships, there is so much you can do with it! Literally it is amazing at everything in the game (arguably the best). I find that it outperforms any small ship (vipers through asps) at any task. Exploring, combat, trade, pirate, mining: all of these are things the anaconda excels at.

It is the best exploring ship with 40 LY max jump. With 8 hardpoints, it honestly has the best hardpoint set up in the game in terms of firepower. While a Corvette or Cutter might have more max cargo, the conda excels at trading while shielded, something the Cutter is especially lousy at (not to mention the conda actually turns).

In my mind, now more than ever before, the Conda truly IS the king of PVE. Best PVE ship in the game, and it's hard to argue otherwise IMHO.

Honestly that's what I dislike about it. It turns like a much smaller ship. Even in a game where ships are insanely maneuverable and 747 sized like ships turn like F-16 fighters, the Anaconda's kinda pushing all credibility ;)

How do you figure that? Can someone clarify what he's talking about, I can't see how the Cutter can be considered lousy at shielded trading :/

Max shield cargo config for both ships -

The Cutter hauls a maximum of 536 tonnes of cargo with 2462 MJ shields.

The Anaconda hauls a maximum of 340 Tonnes with 1547 MJ shields

What am I missing, I don't use either ships for pure cargo runs.

Conda excels in shielded trading? Hardly. 720 tons hauling Cutter can have some 560+ MJ shields - and easily escapes intact from interdictions (and/or if armed, turns interdictors to roast - at least NPCs).

Well, I do love the Adder, even though I have absolutely no use for it whatsoever... :s

That cockpit is just so comfy...

I love the adder. In frontier elite 2 the adder was the first real upgrade, haul real cargo, fit a 5mw pulse laser. It's a pity indeed that it has no use. Would be nice if it had a better range and could be the asp's baby brother.

As for the Asp, I don't understand the dislike. it's an affordable all-round ship and can be fitted in many, many ways to be great at combat, trade and especially exploration. I bet that far the most of us spent most of our time between 10m and 100m net worth in an asp.

Now I must disagree; I used the Adder for a while as a bounty hunting ship, and found it to be fantastic. Shields were good, along with the weaponry. It didn't cost much to upgrade either, so it was actually my first real upgrade in Elite Dangerous.

And I haven't touched an ASP, tbh. I'm currently at 15m net worth and grinding up in a Vipermk4. The ASP seems to clumsy to me.
