Monkey Tierlists!

We all talk about that we dont have a union about what monkeys should be in the game, so i looked for and found a tierlist that we can easily use to share our monkey prioritys.
Im honest, i dont know or just couldnt identify all the monkeys in the pictures, but imo thats no problem as i take any monkeys, but if i dont know them they simply arnt a priority to me.
Heres the link so now show me ur tierlists and lets have a discussion about great monkeys ^^
Also this is mine, with only the top 2 rows having big opinions on if i want them or not. Still so many monkeys id want to have in the game though, i really hope that the modders will manage to make atleast all of the monkeys in my top tier

I think monkeys are the biggest missing group in the game for habitat animals. In my opinion, their absence is worse than the birds because there aren't too many that would go into a habitat. They have so much variety, and when they are active, they bring a lot of life to zoos.

I'm going to list what I think these are to avoid confusion.

Essential or my favorite: (I will be sad if they aren't included or don't have a good substitute)
  1. Golden Lion Tamarin: Really beautiful, I took a trip to the Smithsonian when their breeding program was in full swing. They had a bunch of them, and they were chasing each other around. That is my favorite zoo memory, and they are my most requested animal. They have a good conservation story. I really hope they get added.
  2. Red Shanked Douc: Uncommon in zoos, but they are so colorful and pretty. I really want them anyways.
  3. Black and Gold Howler Monkey: popular SA monkey with sound effects. SA needs monkeys.
  4. Geoffrey's Spider Monkey: popular SA monkey with prehensile tail. SA needs monkeys.
  5. Lion Tailed Macaque: popular Indian monkey. India needs a monkey. I could accept others from India instead
  6. Hamadryas Baboon: most popular baboon. The game needs a baboon. Good for the Middle East
  7. Golden Snub Nosed Monkey: rare monkey of significance to China. One of fewer cold weather upland monkeys and visually distinct.
  8. Mantled Guereza Colobus Monkey: most popular African monkey that is not a baboon. Africa needs at least one. I love their capes.
Yes, please!: (Good for the game, and I like them)
  1. De Brazza's Guenon: Another good African monkey. I like them almost as much as the Colobus
  2. Cotton Top Tamarin: Common in zoos and another cute tamarin
  3. Emperor Tamarin: A tamarin with a mustache!
  4. Squirrel Monkey: popular SA monkey. cute and colorful
  5. Northern Plains Grey Langur: another great choice for an Indian monkey
  6. Yellow Bellied Mangabey: a good choice for Africa. I don't quite like it as much as the first two, but it's still good.
  7. Golden Langur: A pretty choice for India
  8. Bald Uakari: Variety for SA monkeys (I would like a bunch of them)

Good Choice: (Good for the game, and I would approve of their choice though I might not be as excited about it.)
  1. Gelada: Another good African monkey. They live on mountains.
  2. Barbary macaque: Occurs in Africa and Europe
  3. Celebes Crested macaque: An Asian monkey with a big, goofy smile
  4. Common Marmoset: Common SA monkey in zoos
  5. White Faced Saki: Good variety for SA
  6. Red Howler Monkey: I definitely like the color variation in the black and gold, but it's still a good choice
  7. Dusky Leaf Monkey: Good choice for SE Asia
  8. Vervet Monkey: Good choice for Africa
  9. Patas monkey: African monkey with a white mustache
  10. Olive baboon: I think this one's the Olive, which would be another good choice for an African Baboon
  11. Rhesus Macaque: Solid choice for India
Not my favorite:

I don't know what a lot of these are. I see a couple of tamarins, a red faced spider monkey, a tufted capuchin, another odd nosed monkey, a green monkey (my favorite from this bunch), another grey langur, a drill, and several other species of baboon. I don't know what the rest are. Clarification would be awesome.

Well here's mine:

First three rows are self explanatory.

Neither here nor there: for plain and unassuming yet widely spread monkeys. There's far more interesting species.

There's better choices: Species is either not that present in captivity despite their uniqueness or has "more popular cousins".

Baboons however were done on dice throw. I totally thought there's only one species of African grassland baboon that looks like that. So one goes up, other two, whichever species those are go to 5th row.

Unfamiliar: Never seen before or not sure that I've seen. Regardless, don't know enough about them to make decision.

But whoever knows I need to know the name of that unit that's first in the row. I never saw that monkey before and it looks amazing

It's a Sunda pig-tailed macaque - fairly common in European zoos. I actually looked them up as a potential reskin of the Japanese macaque and found they have much more in common (body posture, behaviour and head shape) with the mandrill, which I think is pretty interesting.

Their body shape is what I found interesting. Thanks for info!

  • At least two (preferably three or four, but I'll stay grounded) New World monkeys--my picks would be the golden lion tamarin and the Geoffroy's spider monkey, with honorable mentions to the squirrel monkey, black howler, common marmoset (might be too small), and white-faced saki. Maybe the tufted capuchin as an anniversary animal or cheap clone.
  • The Hamadrayas baboon or gelada, the mantled guereza (extremely common African monkey in captivity), and one other African monkey (leaning towards De Brazza's or another guenon).
  • Ideally at least one tropical Asian monkey that's more realistic than the proboscis monkey, like the lion-tailed macaque.
If we were to get a primate animal pack, I'd pick:
  • Golden lion tamarin
  • Geoffroy's spider monkey
  • Guianan squirrel monkey
  • Hamadryas baboon
  • Mantled guereza
  • De Brazza's monkey
  • Coquerel's sifaka
  • Solomon Islands skink (cheeky exhibit pick, also known as the monkey-tailed skink)
