Monorail - Am I Missing Something?

because it is not for the main entrance, it is to help the guests to go through the park

Ugh. Okay. Kind of lame. I'm on Muertes and I've built up a restort area right at the main entrance. I need a monorail to take the visitors to the attractions at the bottom of the hill, because watching crowds climb up and down that massive slope is like watching Sam & Frodo climb Mt. Doom. But it looks so dumb having a monorail station right next to the main entrance. Oh well.

it would be nicer if you could extend the entrance monorail. I do think it's a bit dumb if you want to have a monorail right by the entrance and then guests have to get off one just to get back on another one

As it stands though it's not too bad. Before launch I wasn't even expecting to be able to build a monorail full stop. I'll just make it so that my monorail stations are far enough away from the entrance to not look silly

think of it like the entrance monorail is connected to the docks which bring passengers by ferry, the internal monorail takes people around the park.

I’m enjoying the game, but things like this really annoy the hell out of me.

I appreciate there are bigger fish to fry and things to add, but as a quality of life aspect, I would really prefer it if the monorail from the outside could be joined up to the park one I build.

As it just looks a little daft when passengers climb down the stairs if one to straight back up the stairs of another separate loop.

Agreed. I was completely baffled when I tried to build a monorail because I assumed it would connect to the main monorail station.

I never got why we can’t connect the monorail to the Arrival Station either, it doesn’t make sense and makes the parks unaesthetically pleasing.

Why would you connect your monorail to the entrance / exit train? That goes backwards and forwards bringing in guests - the monorail is designed for getting passengers around your park efficiently imagine the wait time if you had have otherwise

Because that’s how it was designed in Jurassic World, the Monorail system brought guests all the way from the Arrival Point to all the attractions in the park.

As others have said think of the train at the entry/exit point as the means to bringing in your visitors. While not totally necessary it's often a good area to place tourist buildings. Might as well get those tourists spending their money as soon as possible.
With the exception of Isla Pena I tend to build an internal monorail in a circular route, joining up the ends of the original starting station. I then place stations near enclosures and place a fast food or a bar in the vicinity. Seems to increase income and ratings.

If we could connect the mono to the main line bringing guests in, how would you loop it? You wouldn't be able to close the tracks because the main mono runs forward and backward while ours is a loop.

Disclaimer: It's Friday night so I'm not 100% sober.

OK, that out of the way: I've just spent millions I couldn't really afford on a monorail system around my park on the assumption that it would connect up with the Arrival Point. Why wouldn't it? It's a monorail, just like the one that brings guests into the park. What I ended up with was two monorail stations within a spit of each other, after precious cash wasted trying to route a track between the two systems until I switched to Map Mode and realised that what I was trying to acheive was not possible.

Seriously! It just looks plain stupid. Bring the guests in via some other system, such as a Metro Railway or something. Make it incompatible with the park systems if you're not going to allow us to connect the two together.

Sorry for the up, but I thought it would be best to post in this topic instead of creating a new one. Might be better to gather every info about monorail in one thread, isn't it?

So, I'm wondering: does the monorail absolutely need to make a loop?

The one I built on Isla Tacaño is not yet a loop, but I realized that it seems to be functional anyway (at least I see visitors walking in and out and trains driving from one station to another). Would it be more efficient if I made a loop?

Edit:
Second question: If I build two monorail stations, does it mean that I don't need to add paths between the two locations? I just realized that connecting a building to a monorail station fills the need of a path connection. Put in other words: it won't be a problem for visitors if there is only a connection with monorail and no path?

Pwah - Unions!

In terms of gameplay you cannot connect the monorail to the entrance because it is partially outside the build area. But this could be fairly easily solved if they just extended the build area slightly to include the one side of the entrance so that people can connect their monorails to it. In theory it should be a really easy but effective solution.

If anything it bugs me that you cant really decide where the entrance of the park is. I mean it kind makes sense since most map have a coast but perhaps we could have the option to extend the current entrance somewhere else from where it currently comes out from?
