General Gameplay More Chaos!

Your Feature Request / Idea
One of the running theme's throughout the Jurassic franchise is that of chaos theory, basically one small issue getting out of control and causing other issues as a knock on effect and so forth. In JWE I do think the existing elements of 'chaos' could be improved upon:

1) Power outages - I think when they happen it should cause malfunctioning gates (not all of them, but a certain percentage, possibly dependant on your facility rating or something similar). Maybe they should also restrict the use of the map so that you have to manually resolve any break-outs with the ACU or Rangers

2) Weather - could we have a twister/hurricane that lasts longer depending on your storm defence level? An addition of a heatwave as an alternative tropical weather extreme could cause dehydrated dinos that need to be healed, plus affect the carnivore food causing the knock-on effect of more disease amongst them. This would also generate a need for bars across facility and could also visibly reduce water coverage making it harder for dinos to find water sources.

3) Random sabotages - current types of sabotage should occur (albeit perhaps rarely) that are disconnected from your faction reputation levels. I mean surely rival bioengineering companies could poison your dinos, sabotage your power and tempt your employees to mess with park security opening all your gates.

To help us deal with the above in a fun way, an ability for rangers to also be able to tranq dinos would be awesome. Perhaps this can be built in as an unlockable at say 4 stars or something? Chasing the faster dinos around your park at ground level (with purpose!) would be pretty cool right?

I like how this uses entirely already existing mechanics, just tweaks chances and conditions for them to occur. You have my support and i do think it would potentially make for a bit more involved an experience overall

Yes, it is true, the theory of chaos is part of books and movies, and the phrase that encompasses all this dynamic is "life makes its way", it seems good to add these events as isolated events but in certain opportunities be chained.

Yes, more chaos would be good. Right now it kinda feels like the game dabbles a bit in the themes of chaos but doesn't quite go all in. I would love to see more chaos and hubris built into the game. Give us more unexpected scenarios.

Though it would be a new feature, having raptors and maybe some other dinosaurs systematically test fences could be interesting. Or perhaps Indominus rex ripping out it's tracker so that you can't see it on the map. Things like that could make the game so much more interesting. Though I think many of these types of occurences should be quite rare, as they will become very annoying if they happen all the time. It should be unexpected. The game/weather/dinosaurs should always be one step ahead of the player.

I understand #s 2 & 3... But what I don't understand is #1. Why would a power outage cause a gate to malfunction & slide open? It doesn't make sense.
If we're going to use Nedry's actions in JP as an example, the doors he opened were small, the big gate was a two-part hinged door type & he still had to switch it to manual, he even had to use a jeep to nudge them open. If it's a short that causes the gates to malfunction & open, still doesn't make sense, since a short requires power for it to occur, & since there is none, no short, so no malfunction.
#1 doesn't really make sense IMO.

I'm going to have to disagree with this. There's already an option for those who want more chaos in thier parks, the Jurassic challenge modes are it. Personally I play this game to relax and build nice looking parks with awesome dinosaurs. There's a reason I've only done one Jurassic challenge mode, as much as I may want the new skins, it's not worth the hassle. Definitely don't need to add more random hassle to the rest of the game.

To be fair you have a point when I think about it.... I guess I was just brainstroming a while ago and this is one of the ways that's already in the game that can cause a bit of chaos and I was trying to expand on it. Given the new trees and wetland mechanic in update 1.8 I really hope they can include the heatwave thing in the future.... add dino AI to make them seek shade or even need more water in their habitats to start with to counteract the effects of a potential heatwave? Would be interested to hear what people think about that more than the other suggestions.

If we're talking about heatwaves, the most sensible thing a creature would do is stay hydrated, which means more drinking. Heatwaves shouldn't change a dinos environment requirements, but rather, their behavior instead, & behavior affects their actions.

I really like the idea of heatwaves. It should be fairly easy to implement as well. The need for more water during a heatwave is a good idea as well.
