More DLC coming

Check out SteamDB. Three more unknown dlc were added today. Last time three dlc were put on steamdb as unknown turned into the three dlc that are out now. So let's make some predictions on what is coming out.

Hopefully bigger than the last ones. I don't want the game going in a direction where there are a bunch of micro DLCs [knockout]

Maybe we'll get a Spooky Pack DLC, Dark Ride Pack DLC and Holiday Pack DLC? As TheWetDolphin said... hopefully it won't be micro packs and this go around we'll get quite a bit of content. I prefer quality over quantity and don't mind waiting for content just as long as it adds more to the game and is worth the wait.

I hope it is something more than just stupid movie/TV show vehicle kits. I loved Back to the Future, all 3 films, and watched Munsters and Knight Rider on TV. But this time let it at least be original content and maybe more scenery and rides. I would pay for a pack of fairground flat rides like Round Up, Musik Express, Gravitron, and Rotor for example. I wish there was a coaster type that could be used to make a Toboggan coaster, that compact fairground coaster with a spiral drop around a tower that houses the lift. There is a coaster with a vertical lift, maybe one could be made with that.

I wouldn't get my hopes up on three simultaneously posted DLC items to contain much in the way of content. Most likely they'll be comparable to the Knight Rider/Munsters/Back to the Future kits in terms of size and pricing; it would make no sense for Frontier to release larger and more expensive DLC at the same time. In any case, I'm personally waiting for the next major update before delving back into Planet Coaster, let alone purchasing any DLC. The Spooky/holiday theming 2MileDollywood mentioned would be a nice start, but it needs to be on par with the themes from the base game in terms of content in order to be worth it, especially if the term "expansion" is attached to it.

I wholeheartedly agree with previous posters who are concerned about there eventually being too many $5.00 DLC packs. It would be Death by a Thousand Cuts for users to deal with (and do the math; just ten of those would equal a full-priced game or, in this case, a much more practical full-on expansion).

I'd be remiss not to mention all the free stuff we've gotten, often completely as a surprise, from the development team over the past year. I'm very grateful to Frontier for all the free add-ons and content they've added thus far; I'm not trying to take away from that at all. My concerns are strictly in regards to any future paid content for PC. I'll happily pay (and wait a bit longer) for full-on expansions with additional themes, rides, booths, and scenery over lots of "cheap" add-ons that would subtly add a huge amount of extra cost in their own right.

Well I hope these next 3 are good because I haven't even bought the first 3!

This.

I would want to, but those DLC's just don't interest me and it small DLC's like that really bother me because they rip apart the workshop. Oh no you can't have that because it requires DLC X and you can't do that because it requires DLC Y. Which is a shame because if I would buy them it would only be for the transparant windows and the wheel scenery items. But that's about it. And then you have to go through the trouble to see which DLC pack contains which item or just buy them all and then everytime you make a new workshop blueprint you need to see if you didn't include any DLC item by accident so people at least would be able to use it. Which in the long run is gonna end up with like 50 small DLC packs and it's gonna rip apart the workshop.

Really wish they went with the big expansionpacks from the start like RCT3, Cities Skylines and other games did. These small DLC packs are so bad for gaming. [ugh]

Frontier does try to listen to us, but in this case, they won´t sadly. This is the thing that will, Iˇm afraid, ruin the game... They definitely wanna go the route of small DLCs :(

One doesn't rule out the other i guess?

For now they have 3 types of updates mostly :

1. Big updates like Winter / Spring / Summer
2. Smaller updates (most often flatrides and sometimes a coaster like we had the wild mouse)
3. Small paid DLC packages

So basically we already have bigger DLC's they just don't cost you any money. Maybe they will continue to do those big packs in the future but then being paid. Then we basically have our big DLC packs i guess?

I would say because the smaller DLC's contain licensed material where as a part of a contract agreement with the IP holder, a payment is required so both parties can receive some money from it.

Those licensed stuff are not in the big seasonal Updates so no payment is asked for it and thus is free.

How do I feel about more DLC's? Fine. As long as the regular updates continue and they still try to improve the game and it's gameplay.

I fully agree here (as often).

My point was that there is no reason to complain about the small updates as long as the small ones don't rule out the big ones. (Ofcourse people can have opinions about the content of smaller DLC packages)

I'm guessing that new small DLC will be something like the DLC that were released earlier this summer; the construction kits. They could be made based upon a licensed IP, but that is not a requirement.

I am mostly looking forward to the big November update, also known as the Anniversary update for Planet Coaster. Developers who were guests in the last few livestreams have already mentioned that it will be a big one, and I am eager to find out what they have planned for us.

When is the hype train leaving? [squeeeeee]
Don't want to be late.

An oil canister. When placed near a coaster it reduces friction. [big grin]

Edit: and then I see the latest news article. [haha] /derp

Maybe there's still some stuff from Universal in the pipeline? Are there any other Universal IP's that would work creating construction kits (because I suspect that's what we'll get or something very similar...).

I wouldn't mind a series based on the Classic Universal Monsters, but they'd likely need to include a figure maybe, some props, perhaps even some matching walls and decorative elements...like the Phantom would include a chandelier and maybe a pipe organ, stage curtains, etc. I share the general dislike for small DLC sets that will cause problems in the workshop. Yeah, I know it's a choice whether to download something or not, but still... I'd personally much rather have large full-sized expansion packs as we had previously in RCT.

there is a reason. The more smaller paid DLCs is released, the more fragmented Workshop gets...

Does the announcement of Jurassic World Evolution immediately exclude Planet Coaster from ever getting any JP/JW stuff? Dino animatronics would be spectacular and then the jeep/electric car build packs...maybe even a visitor center build pack. That would be interesting.

I do hope that if we get large paid expansions, they actual alter gameplay and add totally new features, like Soaked and Wild did for RCT3. I don't think the free "seasonal" updates would be enough for me to pay "expansion" prices. We'll see, though.
