More Elephants!

It's only two days left of the challenge and we are hardly half way there! We need more Elephants!
I know that one big problem is that there are so few female elephants on the market, and the people that are buying Frontier elephants and then reselling them for x10 the price doesn't exactly help and it makes me so damn mad. How greedy can people get!?! Are they that lazy that they can't earn CC in a honest way and are forced to scam people?? The only thing this does is discouraging people to participate in the challenge and increase the risk of it failing (tip: if you have a hard time earning CC, just breed African Buffalos and sell the males).

Another problem that people can get with this challenge is that Elephants are pretty expencive to feed and if you have to many of them you zoo can start to loose money pretty quickly (I had this problem at the start of the challenge)

One tip if you have this issue;
Start a new zoo, build a big habitat (around 15k m2) with a lake in it, get all the necessary staff facilitys (including water treatment, don't forget about that!) and one of each staff (two zookeepers), but skip the guard (cus they are useless). Then start slow with just two-three elephants (preferably one male and two females) and wait until you have researched them to full (and get your zookeepers to about 3 stars). The researching is optional but it will help with breeding, wich makes you less dependent on the market. After this is done, buy everything you need to make your Elephants happy (enrichement items etc).
Then just go ham! Get a big herd of Elephants and set the timer to x3. Then go do household stuff or whatever you want and check in on the zoo once every 10min or so. As soon as an Elephant have gotten three stars, release it and replace it with a new one (or wait for the babys to grow up).

Money doesn't matter at all. As long as you get everything your Elephants need at the start you don't need any money to buy new stuff. I've done this over the last few days and have been able to release over 100 Elephants :) (the money flow is minus 5mill, but like I said, it doesn't matter)

I have 3 males in 1 main enclosure and 2 breeding pens with all mates swapped and matched - All week since the challenge I've released only 7. This challenge is a tough one :)

I also don't like People that buy Animals just to sell them immediately for way more CC. I think 2 of the biggest Problems are that the Challenge started during the Time when the Bug was still in the Game where Staff couldn't do anything because they weren't able to go into the Staff-Rooms. I think I'm not the only Person who stopped playing during this Time because I didn't want my Animals to die. I think the other one of the biggest Problems is the long Pregnancy and the long Time the Elephants need to grow up

The long pregnancy and slow to grow up is helped by having an "Elephant zoo" where you can have the time set to x3 at all times :)

^ Yup, when the challenge is on the challenge is on. Farming will do it, I'm trying my best to stick to regular zoo breeding. This is with 2 non public elephant habs though.

Truthfully, I may have given up on this challeng. I do have 2 calves that I am waiting to mature in one of my 2 zoos. I wasn't playing after I saw 20 staff o"on strike" outside the staff rooms even after I added another 2. But since I do have a working zoo, I am reluctant to 3xs it for long, so it is a long wait for the calves to mature.

Got to contribute 26 viable elephants so far, and I have to say that you might want to hold on to your elephants until they have produced enough offspring to keep your breeding project going instead of releasing them as soon as they reach 3 stars. Keep in mind that elephants can be released even as elderly animals, so you can still squeeze that last calf out of them at age 65 to 72 and still release them for one more point towards the challenge even when they are worth hardly any CC at that point.
That said, balancing the budget is definitely the tricky part of this challenge. It's like the big guys are directly eating your bank account, so either you already have a large elephant habitat in a profitable zoo or you will have to build quite a bit of money-generating infrastructure around your breeding project to keep the dumbos fed.

I’ll admit it was challenging to get the ball rolling on this. Once I had a few elephants not bad. I released 19 I believe I’m sure it pales in comparison to some others but I usually don’t play franchise so I’m more than happy with that. Mission accomplished for me whether this challenge is successful or not. With the animal being so amazing looking and one of my favs to build for I was very happy to gain the avatar outfit at least.

I'm at 183 Elephants released atm, aiming to get at least 200. And that was only possible after creating my Elephant zoo (I'm at minus 7million dollars now :p ). I can understand that it's hard to release alot of them if you stick to your regular zoo as you would become bankrupt really fast + if you don't have alot of CC. But with a decent amout of CC and a brand new zoo just for this challenge, getting alot of releases is pretty fast and easy :)

I did find something strange about the star rating of bull elephants. I had quite a few bulls that I had to put in the tradecentre as soon as they grew up, to not cause fighting. At the time they had one or two stars. But after I put them back in the habitat a while later, all of a sudden, they instantly had 4-5 stars??? whats up with that???

I was doing really good making money at first lol. But once I got the elephants I kinda neglected the zoo lol. I was -255,000$. Wow 183 is impressive.

The money loss doesn't matter at all since I only made this zoo for the challenge and it only contains the elephant habitat :)

I've released 165 elephants so far and am trying to produce 100/100 elephants. Problem is there are no good males with high stats on the market. So it's slow going breeding up my own stock purely from frontier elephants with bad stats. Also some guy with potato in his name keeps flipping all the cheap males I put back on the market. I have given up pricing things cheaply because if I do it's flipped immediately.

Yeah, flippers are the plague. I usually undercut the normal going prices a bit, but if you go too low there is a huge chance you are just gifting those grifters a chunk of CC.

Agree, those damn flippers are a real plague to the market. Makes me so angry when I put out an African Buffalo male (trying to breed perfect animals of those, but going meh) for a resnable price and then see it out on the market again a few sec later for 10k...

And back to topic! Still 7000 Elephants to go, come on people, we can do it! :D

It should be that an animal can never be sold for more than it was originally bought for.
