More good than bad.

Hooray for the happy....we may be the pessimistic people in the forum here chaps...l.o.l.....but at least we will not be disappointed on the 16th of next month. I think I am most looking forward to the planned freedom to walk around the space-station shops and buy some croissants and a coffee next year. Then perhaps the ''new'' next level of ships that even us oldies may never have seen in the ''original'' game.
Thirdly....I think what I like the most is that we have a complete new generation of players from young peeps to oldies like me and 'Shoklar' who played it the first time around, all getting to explore our local and distant systems that frankly look absolutely fabulous.
Oh and like you are thinking Shoklar........I have just updated the computer for the first time really in 7 years, from a Q6600 to an I5....just for the game, but it's worth it I believe.

I think the age of our computers were similar. If I remember rightly, I bought mine way back in 2007. So an upgrade is long overdue. Exploring, can be very profitable I found, once you get good scanning equipments and put the effort in. I think I'll start looking to get a custom gaming machine built. :)

Shok.

I had an nerdgasm as i saw the Beta 1 Overview video of Polygon.
Then i bought into Beta 1, cause i had to try it. Bought a X52 and a Track IR, and it was amazing.
Then came Beta 2 and OMG its like 800% more Awesomenes and all i was missing like the outfitting part!
Was so happy that i bougt a T-Shirt and the Wireframe Cobra Skin along with others to donate something to the Frontier Devs in return. I had to.
Beta 3 is somewhat a step forward and two steps back as SXAA is working worse then in Beta 2 and there are other Technical things like stuttering and loading pauses.
So i'm more settled in my euphoric right now. But still i am happy with that game. But don't play it anymore beside of try'd out mining,
as the ships are so expensive now and i just have no fun in grinding for credits just to get wiped again before release.
Now i wait for the Pre-Release to really play it. (And hope they don't set it all to zero again on Release.)

But i still think this game is awesome. Just for the Stars, Planets, Stations, Asteroids and stuff.
(It has made me speechless so many times, when i came out of supercruise and see a Station near two Stars in the Background and such.)
And for the tuning of the ships towards the role you want to do with them. It is so great.

Off course i have fears off important points not to be addressed till release, like the engine optimization of Antialiasing and Performance.
But then again the mood was the same before beta 2 and then BAM: It had more stuff in it then anyone could imagine.
And i expect such for the release aswell. We didn't got the full development game in any stage of "Beta",
and the Devs where giving us just peaces of the version they already had. So i'm quite optimistic till the release will prove me otherwise.
And as i say, my optimism comes from the jump between beta 1 and beta 2. And i believe we get an equal jump on release.
(And i have no problems with bugs being fixed after the release. As long as they do so. And i think they will.)
