The new lighting system post 3.3 has some good and bad aspects.
- Good: Nice colours, some good tones, dark side of planets is dark.
- Bad: Doesn't suit all situations, instances of colour saturation, instances of bad exposure (over or under), some blurriness.
Anyway, on balance a good step to improve the game but needs more work. Rather than trying to do a "one size fits all" please consider some basic graphic controls in game settings. My suggestions would be:
- Brightness.
- Contrast.
- Gamma (which is already there).
- Saturation.
Sharpness filter would be sick too.
For a very good example of a game that lets players set the graphics to their own liking take a look at "The Talos Princple" (recent release on PC).
Cheers
