More in the future, or will JWE2 closed down?

I'm not sure if this question has been asked before, and I haven't searched the entire forum for it. But I'm wondering about the level of information among the users here. Since the release of Jurassic World Evolution 1, there has never been such a long gap between DLC releases. It's been over 9 months since the Malta DLC, and I'm just wondering... is there still a big (concluding?) DLC planned, or is it more likely that things are quiet for now, with the possibility of Jurassic World Evolution 3 coming out in a few years or waiting for the release of another Universal movie in theaters? What is the current information on this?

I feel that a jwe3 seems very implausible considering that it makes more sensible for frontier to build a lot more on to this game with content and perhaps maybe if they stop making contact I suspect that may be a new show or movie for Jurassic and then make more content

They sent an email to various youtubers about the 30th anniversary update, it might suggest that no more expansions are planned, though it is fairly ambiguous.

December would be the next plausible time for an expansion/bigger DLC.

Fingers crossed, it can go either way.

For the Southwest USA challenge mode in Jurassic difficulty, I need whatever DLCs we can get our hands on. Each new DLC boost this game's dinosaur variety.

For the Jurassic World challenge mode in Jurassic difficulty, I need Microceratus. So far, only Microceratus is not included in this game despite its debut in the original novel version of Jurassic Park and the film Jurassic World: Dominion. Therefore, fans and players have been demanding this species.

The don't publicize the future of a game including what's in future updates.

There have been DLC's every 3 months or so,, the most recent is the August update.

The game doesn't "close down". You can play it for as long as you wish
:)
Yeah Thanks. I may have expressed myself a bit unclearly. By DLC, I meant expansions of the game that include their own Challenge-Modes/Chaos Theory storylines, like Dominion Biosyn / Dominion Malta. And by "close down," I didn't mean the game itself but the support / creation of new content by Frontier. Nevertheless, thank you very much for the feedback. And yes, my hopes are also pinned on December.

It’s worth noting, and I’ve said this before already, “packs” generally don’t mean “small packs” only in the game industry.

There’s also the term “expansion packs” which is synonymous to “expansion DLCs”. I know you or others may point out Frontier’s use of terms, but that isn’t a necessary reason by any means.

Another thing I want to add is this:
It’s best to know why Frontier stopped adding content to JWE1. Rich Newbold, JWE2’s director, said in a Newsweek article weeks after release that after the RTJP PDLC, the team moved on to JWE2 to explore new storytelling opportunities with Universal’s collaboration. After all, it’s a game to have been confirmed to be greenlit as early as March 06, 2019, in their publicly available RNS reports. For all I know, it could’ve been planned and in the process of being so as early as late 2018.

Most probably JWE1 ended so abruptly because a new movie was coming out in the near future. Also, even if Frontier wanted to, the game could not handle lagoons or aviaries. As for the future of JWE2, whose to say... I have a feeling though it will be a more complete game compared to the first one, once that day comes.

Content adding for JWE1 ended when it did because of what I shared above. Even if there will be a new major blockbuster Hollywood film coming for Jurassic anytime in the future, it doesn’t necessarily equate to a new JWE, or any form of Jurassic game, by Frontier. I’ve seen wishes for the “perfect” construction and management game with dinosaurs and whatever for over a decade, including for both JWE games, and hardly any of those “perfect” (whatever that really means in those eyes) dream wishes totally came true. So, I won’t be surprised if it will go as far as 2025, especially if there will be a Jurassic World 10.th anniversary they could celebrate on with this game with a standalone, major free update.

There was also a lot holding JWE1 back. We never could've gotten what we have with 2 in 1. No Lagoons or Aviaries as they are. 6 skins per animal as opposed to a more intuitive skin system, multiple biomes, mixed eras, FEATHER SHADERS.

JWE2 was a necessary step up and for what it's worth, it succeeded. It has upgraded systems, is adaptable to changes wheras JWE1 was not, and with the new tie in film, it made sense to implement all these changes.

As long as JWE2 is profitable and popular, there doesn't seem a need to end it for a while. There will always be animals people want and will buy, the game is one of the more accessible due to being on consoles as opposed to a PC exclusive, Jurassic Park is still a popular IP and JWE2 really has no serious competition atm. It just seems more lucrative to keep going, but focus on the near future as opposed to years down the line.

There is plenty of room to improve Jurassic World: Evolution 2, I stopped playing Jurassic World: Evolution 1 after I unlocked all the skins last year.

Expect new stuff when Jurassic World: Chaos Theory is released.

Be vigilant for the next five days.

Exactly my point. JWE2 is way more adaptable than JWE1 ever was. So many things that JWE2 has done, new biomes for instance, would have been impossible before.

For the time being, there's no need to make another JWE, eventually, yes, but not anytime soon.

Plus, it wouldn't be a complete and authentic Jurassic World experience with the game missing 2 (3?) species that were seen in canon, plus 3 hybrids mentioned in the last game (1 of which is semi-canon)

We are totally missing:
  • Microceratus - mentioned in various, non-canon media and also shown in the last movie
  • Spinoceratops - seen in the final 2 seasons of Camp Cretaceous
  • Spinoraptor - popular hybrid from Jurassic World: The Game and Jurassic World Evolution 1
  • Ankylodocus - same as above
  • Stegoceratops - same as above, but also in a deleted scene from Jurassic World, meaning that it's semi-canon in the Jurassic World universe

The omission of Microceratus is really weird. They add a new dimorphodon skin which was barely in the movie (granted its a nice skin of course) but miss out a species that was shown multiple times

Probably saving it for something else or Universal told them not to. Who knows?

Tarbosaurus and the Smilodon too

Datamining and material from Frontier indicates that there's at least four more DLCs planned after the upcoming "Goat DLC", so the support isn't dropping for a while. What those DLCs are, we don't know. Based on Nothosaurus being in the Marine Species Pack we can guess that the remaining missing species (Microceratus, Tarbosaurus, Sino-Spino, Smilodon) will be scatted amongst the DLCs, hopefully one of them being a Hybrid Pack that brings back the missing hybrids as well.
