More mission-based interdiction nonsense

My conclusions for the night: (1) "high waking" does absolutely nothing useful to diminish the interdiction frequency, (2) the game's interdiction mechanism is broken, stupid, and schizoid, and (3) only quitting to the main menu seems to reset whatever stupid thing it is that's gone pear shaped and keeps causing interdictions. Sad but true.

It does seem to hit some folks pretty hard. I was interdicted twice tonight. Each time, I high-waked out and had no further issues. One interdiction was totally justified -- I was packed with loot and haulage. The other seemed to be unjustified. I had 8 limpets and nothing else, though I am maxed out on mats. In the case of the latter, it came without warning. Not that I'm insisting it should have come with a warning, but they always seemed to in the past.

For me, they were just enough to keep me on my toes, but had they persisted I probably would have tired of it as well. Hopefully the devs will address the problem soon.

I'm loving 2.1, the only time I had more enthusiasm in this game was when I first bought it. Loving the improved missions, the revamped USS, the thougher NPCs, etc.

But I have to agree on this. The current frequency of interdictions is completely ludicrous. This seems to be the effect of the usual giant mace that FD uses to tweak and balance things.

I took 5 missions from a faction, 3 simple delivery and 2 data delivery, all to systems nearby. I was interdicted 16 times. Smashed most of the attackers, ran away from a few. The difficulty is perfectly fine. But the frequency is way over the top. I could barely pass wind for a few seconds before someone interdicted me again. And the fact they always spawn directly on my tail and immediately start interdicting is lame too.

The problem with interdiction as a gameplay is the same as randomness as a gameplay: Frontier use it far too much in far too much situations. It's the new placeholder like USS were before 2.1 patch. If they need to add something "to do" for the player and don't want to code it, well they put an interdiction event or a RNG popping stuff to grab.
Putting interdiction events everywhere doesn't make the galaxy feel more alive either... same as wedding barge (marry the damn girl and free the comm for god sake !)

In the end this is how i feel about it. Way too much use of this mechanic.
