Some have suspected this whole UA thing is related to aliens beyond Thargoids. The problem with Thargoids is they have to tread carefully. They've been placed up on a pedestal and kicking it over will be like a bad movie sequel. Adding something new adds another dimension to the game and gives them a wide degree of freedom.

My guess is some new threat is going to emerge, and the Thargoids are going to come and help save the day.

Hasn't one of the new* fiction hinted that the Thargoids were fictionalized as well, and that they might have a great enemy which isnt humans

And would Rogue AI count as Alien?

*As opposed to the old dark where and Original elite which was Space faring Aliens everywhere now reconned away

The Thargoids weren't "allied with humans". Some humans (in the Alliance) chose to try to prevent an attempted Thargoid genocide perpetrated by some other humans (in the INRA). The Thargoids were grateful to the humans that helped them but they are probably still wary of us as a species, if not outright hostile, given the whole "attempted genocide" thing.

On the issue of "Aliens other than Thargoids", it's what I've always said: check out the list of permit-locked sectors over in the permits thread. Most of those sectors are bigger than the entire sphere of human space, and there's 17 of them. If they're all occupied by just Thargoids, then we're doomed - we can't hope to compete against an alien empire that's that much bigger than us. But if there's Thargoids plus 16 other races (or even just 6 other races), that makes for an interesting galaxy.

Universal Cartographics obviously has a mandate of some kind to slap a sector ban wherever there's even a slight whiff of alien activity. Either that, or Universal Cartographics has already been infiltrated...

Season 2 eh? I seem to remember a forum post a long time ago where FD said Thargoids would not be part of a paid expansion, so more smoke and mirrors.

We can just hope that there is a way we can make peace with the Thagroids, because whoever is coming after them will be way more dangerous and we will desperately need allies to defend our galaxy!!

Doesn't mean it will be locked to those who paid for the Expansion, Crafting is coming with Horizons but will be available to those who do not have the expansion.

Other Intelligent Life? Of course there is! Lets see we have the Turians, Asari, Quarians, Salarians, KROGANS, Covenant(can't forget them), and oh the predators vs aliens always fighting somewhere in the galaxy(not sure what they call themselves). And have I heard rumors of cat people? Who doesn't love cat people.

What I can imagine is forming an alliance with some alien race, and for these aliens to have docking stations dotted around the galaxy that us humans could dock in.
