More than the bugs and performance issues - this is what has made me lose hope in the game

To be fair, I was almost tempted by the Pumpkin outfit but I don't have enough ARX and I sure as hell ain't giving FDev any more money until EDO is sorted. Actually, I haven't spent any money on cosmetics since they introduced ARX because I'm vehemently opposed to virtual currencies in video games.

Good to know your vehement opposition to virtual currencies doesn't extend to spending the free stuff Frontier gives you ;)

I don't see the hypocrisy in that. Free stuff is fine and dandy, but if something costs the equivalent of $3, I want to spend $3 and not $5 or whatever to buy a bundle of fake currency, especially as the fake currency is non-refundable. It's also a cynical method of obfuscating prices. There is no reason why they can't have both ARX and direct purchases using real currency.

Meh, virtual currency, real money, in the end, if you're buying stuff from them, you're still spending real money at the end of the day. Doesn't take an advanced degree in maths to do a quick conversion of the virtual currency into real money to understand the price of stuff.

Its 20 ARX per rouble (not including the bonuses for buying the higher tier packs or what you earn through playing).

So, if i see a suit costing 6000 ARX then i know its 300 roubles.

Is 300 roubles a good price for that skin?

Its got a pumpkin for a head! Damn right it is!

It's 👏 a👏game.
Correct, not sure what that has to do with a piece of entertainment breaking it's own internal consistency though.

If Citizen Kaine or Seven Samurai suddenly had chipmunks dancing to dubstep in the middle of the film, I'm dubious if they would have had the same level of critical acclaim. (they might have gained some cult status for being silly/funny though)

But for many people, it's not and they end up spending much more money than they realise. Particularly as the relationship between real currency and virtual currency is not linear. It's a trick that mobile F2P game developers have been using very successfully for years.

And like I said, if an item costs $3 then I want to pay $3 and not $5, and then end up with change in a non-refundable currency. It's simply a cynical ploy to get you spending even more money.

Plenty of games break their internal consistency in the name of getting people to spend money on themed cosmetic items. If you don't like it then don't buy them and avoid those who do.

Well, No one has ever accused ED of being critically acclaimed :D

As long as you're still planing on buying more stuff, then it doesn't really matter.

And if people can't solve simple maths.... well, enough said.

Sure they do, but I actually like(d?) this game, in part, due to it's attempts (And admittedly some failures, but none as obviously intentional as this) to retain some semblance of sticking to it's world building and setting through some (in the past) exceptional (in my opinion) art direction.

My point wasn't that ED was as critically acclaimed as the mentioned films, it's that doing things like this lowers the quality of the piece significantly.

OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD!

The suits come in different flavours!!!!!

Oh well, guess it's one more disappointment for you.
