General Gameplay More unique dinos

I also made a conceptual thread of how the gigantoraptor, deinocheirus, and therizinosaurus could be implemented into the game.

Now that the nigersaurus is in, I could see more odd dinosaurs getting in too! The amargasaurus could also make an appearance in the game using a modified rig of the nigersaurus. Likewise the new small size of the homalocephale could lead to new small inclusions too. I would at the very least like 3 more small dinosaurs to expand the variety of the small niche. And I want one of them to be Psittacosaurus ♥️

Days ago, I posted a comment showing list of five potential existing species variety conceptual examples for herbivores. But I also realized I didn’t post anything here for carnivores yet. So I thought I could post another comment but of three examples this time for carnivores right now,

Suchomimus: A dinosaur that could be laying down to a crouched-like position in a new “Basking” behavior status. In which the sucho stays in a resting posture, with its head up, looking around, snapping and roaring at other dinosaurs in real time with no further script animations. This is just to make it feel more crocodile-like because of its head shape.

Giganotosaurus: A big girl of a dinosaur (though not as much as the acrocanthosaurus), an idea for in-game dinosaur variety would be for a pair of these big guys fighting over a dead corps in a "tug of war". When a dinosaur dies, they become rag dolls, but I'd like to imagine two gigas grabbing onto the ends (head and tail) in a similar fashion as to how a transport chopper latches onto a dino's ragdoll body, but in a script animation sequence. Once they do, they would try to fight over the body of a dead small or medium herbivore (maybe even a nigersaurus, the only giant herbivore type that seems small enough to me for this sequence) until one lets go. That would be cool to see in-game in concept.

Carcharodontosaurus: This dinosaur I consider the lion of Jurassic World Evolution, simply because of its roars that are lion-like (and I'll bet they used lion sounds to make the carcha sounds). Inspired by the carcha vs. carcha fight scene in the documentary, Planet Dinosaur, I'd like to see a similar thing to this big-sized large carnivore, mainly because of its slender body shape. But instead of wounding each other like in the show, it would be where they fight for "dominance" by trying to bit each other's heads with their necks high up and pressed against each other, but not actually grabbing on to each other.

A few more ideas came to mind recently. However, because they are too small and simple to be in separate threads for my liking, I'm deciding to post them here. Especially, since they are small and simple, it is already late in the time span between the last major update and the potential dates for both the reveal and release of the next one.

Albertosaurus: This dinosaur from Claire's Sanctuary always seems to be kinda tentative in few of its animations, particularly when it sniffs in its idle script animations. So, I thought of expanding that sniffing kind of behavior to other things around it by making it sniff enclosure buildings, rocks, scenery trees, fences, and gates for both ranger jeeps and ride attractions in a new behavior status to make this large carnivore feel more inquisitive in its personality. This was kinda inspired by this from the game's Twitter account:

Velociraptor: Since all of the dinosaurs in Jurassic World Evolution are made to be cohesive to respect the feel and style of the franchise's film series, it would be cool if these small carnivores would have a new behavior status in which they would be "testing fences". I see their script sequences where they would be observing and interacting with fencing in a curious manner.

Edmontosaurus: As a rare experience if one has a loose small carnivore for whatever reason. Maybe it could be either if the small carnivore is on low health, or if the individual edmonto is an alpha, or both, when the small carnivore attempts to hunt and kill the targeted edmonto, it would drop back down on all fours and give one good smack of its swinging tail which instantly kills the small carnivore into a ragdoll. Mainly because it has the thickest tail among all other hadrosaurs in-game.

Tyrannosaurus rex: When this dinosaur is hungry and there is a dead small or medium herbivore, I can imagine it actually picking up the corps of the dead dinosaur in a similar fashion as how a transport helicopter picks up the ragdoll body of a dinosaur, since all dead dinosaurs become ragdolls in the end. The rex would lift up and carry (maybe dragging if it's done to a dead medium hebivore) a herbivore's corpse to the edge of a nearby forest radius before eventually feeding on the ragdoll body. This just so the rex can be loved more since its what I call a "beloved species" in the franchise as a whole.

Ceratosaurus: I've seen an idea thread in which this dinosaur could feed from the fish feeders because there are scientific theories from professional paleontologists that do suggest such a thing. But I don't think it would be that the cerato would prefer the fish feeder of the meat feeder like with the spinosaurs. I think it should treat the fish feeder as another typical meat feeder that's just close by it, that way it's personality can be distinguished from the four spinosaurs in-game.

Spinosaurus: By default, this dino can live with two of their kind together, so how about make it show more of its aggression it had in Jurassic Park III when interacting with each other over food in-game? I could imagine this being some kind of new behavior status when two would position themselves at a feeder side to side from other. One spinosaurus has to be hungry enough to trigger this. In the sequence, one individual would snatch up a fish or pick up a meat chunk before the other would try to take it from the other, at which point they would fight by lashing their forearms at one another and trying to bite each other's faces. This so that the long arms of the spinosaurus could be used a bit more in-game.

Another thing I do want to post here is the Indominus rex was affected by the large carnivores no longer able to scare sauropods update from Update 1.8. Like in this thread of mine from many months ago:
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/indominus-rex-scarring-sauropods-again.516538/
I believe to make the Indominus rex feel more threatening and unique is for it to be able to scare sauropods again, considering it's the only dinosaur in-game that can instantly kill such dinosaurs.

There were also other threads I've seen to suggest the Ankylodocus being able to hurt back the Indominus as well as the Dilophosaurus being able use its spit mor eoften, particularly when "Hunting" goats and other dinosaurs.

The former I said above might be easy to do but the other two, as they are dino on dino interactions, might need a little more time, and it's already very late in the time span between 1.8 and the next potential major update. But because the last two were all posted in earlier months, I think they could be so in the next major update. If not, then possibly in the next ones after.

You know, I’ve made about a dozen or so conceptual threads of dinosaur diversity to at least some existing in-game dinosaurs, just as something I thought would be interesting to give out here to them. But here are a few small, simple conceptual ideas for those not big enough for more threads.

Stegosaurus: This dinosaur’s uniqueness would be where two individuals rub against other members of their kind to showcase more of their social personalities. Mostly because it’s the most social and population needy stegosaurs in the game and is the only stegosaur in-game without any shoulder spikes. Whether or not this could be a behavior status in game is really up to them if decided.

Diplodocus & Ankylodocus: For these two sauropods, if ground textures could be upgraded to affect dinosaur behavior, here’s what I think it could do to them: When there is Rock or Shale present in their reach, they would go over to it, dip their heads down to the ground to preform an animation in which they are picking up and swallowing down small pebbles (gastroliths). This is to kinda represent what the diplo’s entry in the InGen Database file this game tells you about the dinosaur.

Sinoceratops: This dinosaur I can see “licking” some rather tiny sized herbivores like the Homalocephale, or at least any small herbivore that’s resting down as a small reference to what the sino did to Owen in the last movie.

Archaeornithomimis: Since the forest painted areas have a radius for the Indominus’s camo gene to activate, maybe this radius can be expanded for the archaea to run into the edge of it and go into a hiding behavior mechanic by making it go into a resting position to make it feel more elusive to spot than the other ornithomimids, since it does have the proper coloring.

Muttaburasaurus: What I can imagine this dinosaur doing is literally sniffing other herbivores, whether it would be for other species or others if it’s kind. Then, when done sniffing, the dinosaur would then sneeze for a bit of comic relief.

Just some small and simple ideas I just thought of posting here for anyone to check out, just because I thought these were interesting to think about as concepts for this game.

These are pretty cool ideas... but why would you want them exclusive to one animal? These sound like fairly universal activities that all (or at least quite a few) species should be able to do... if anything this just proves the dinosaurs in game lack behavior animations...

They're just conceptual ideas to make certain species feel more unique from each other besides models, colors, sounds, and sometimes behavior animation rigs.

If I may, I want to showcase 2 threads I made which I think could work on this thread.

We could keep introducing new dinosaurs to the game to help add variety to the roster, a practice which I support as there are some key stars that have yet to make it to the game due to unique rigs and animation needed to give them life. However, I do think we should not neglect the old dinosaurs as well. Update 1.8 has made the spinosauridae and pachycephalosauridae families more unique with the introduction of the wetland need and fish feeders for the former, and the ability to engage in combat with the small carnivores for the latter.

These are things that are added to the game but was discussed in dev streams how it was a process to include new animations to old dinosaurs, so I really am unsure how stable the game's code really is. However, I do think applying the hunt need to the carnivores in the game would make them more different from the herbivores in terms of mechanics when it comes to keeping them in their enclosures, and to make some more unique than others by their need to hunt without relying in implementing new animations. So we could have docile carnivores like ceratosaurus, to active hunters like the tyrannosaurus rex, to monstrous killers like the indominous rex. Each one adding some excitement based on their species, making some more unique than others.

I also brought up the idea of introducing more fossils to the game to help add variety to the carnivore fossils. The carnivore line has increased a lot since launch, which makes it feel a bit underwhelming when they only have 2 fossil artworks to showcase them, which is literally "they are big or small". The roster now has a variety to choose from in terms of families which have distinctive skull shapes, sizes, differentiations in anatomy, and behaviors. Having new fossil artworks would add to their uniqueness by making dinosaurs like the the majungasaurus, spinosaurus, giganotosaurus, and tyranosaurus rex be unique from their bones alone than relying on a single large carnivore fossil artwork. That and it is odd to see the small bipedal herbivores bar the pachycephalosauridae share a similar fossil with the small carnivores despite their vegetation diet, especially for the newly introduced dryosaurus that has a skull shape similar to that of a velociraptor.

I know for a fact this has already been mentioned somewhere but I would LOVE an animation that involves the Brachiosaurus standing on it two hind legs to eat from tree tops. Wasn't that even in one of the trailers? However, a couple issues with this is that the Sauropods don't eat from trees, and the Brachi can't do it with the tall feeder because the Brachi is taller than it.

The only way I can see the Brachiosaurus doing this is be having it do it on scenery trees, because those trees are solid objects, as oppose to the forest panted surface trees which are all not solidified or meant to be interacted with by any movement from the dinosaurs (besides playing some tree movement sounds as they walk or run in them). The idea itself, by the way, is something I can't believe I forgotten about! That's one way on how to make the brachiosaurus feel more unique from the other sauropods.

And speaking of sauropods, since Camarasaurus is thought to have lived in social groups, with the InGen database entry of it and the tour voice both describing them to live in herds. So, why not give them the "alpha status" mechanic? That way they can both move in better looking herds and being able to make them feel more unique from all the other sauropods.
