I think we could benefit from more variety in challenges that are presented to us in franchise and challenge mode. It's very repetitive and uninspiring. I don't mind the ones we get now (e.g. Increase education of x animal to 14%; Release 3 x animals into the wild; Have 2000 guests in your zoo; etc), but I feel like we could have many more challenges with ranging difficulties.
For example a "hard" challenge would be "Have 2 polar bears in your zoo" - it would encourage the player to work towards getting polar bears in their zoo, but because having them in your zoo poses all kind of different challenges (space, food cost, climate) it would be considered as a "hard" challenge. It could be even harder if it would be something like "Have 2 polar bears in your zoo with welfare above 90%". The challenges itself would be affected by the difficulty of the game itself. If it's easy mode you get all the easier challenges, medium would be a mix of easy and hard and hard could be only hard challenges.
Other examples of challenges:
Obviously I'm just brainstorming here and I'm sure we could all come up with many more ideas. We have all the animals available to us on the market since the start it would be nice if we actually had an incentive to adopt certain species and work towards different goals.

- Have 2 habitats with Asian animals with climbing needs in your zoo
- Have 3 different species of spiders in your zoo
- Have a pride of lions consisting of 10 individuals in your zoo
