Most fun game mode?

Sandbox & Challenge <3

I'm glad nobody thinks Career mode though. Way too hard for a game you just want to enjoy.
Career mode and timed scenario make me aggressive, really. Too hard (for me) and I hate if a game tells me what to do when. That's not PZ exclusive with me, though. Only game were I could bear it for a while was JWE.
But I know some people enjoyed PZ career.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the characters from it. Probably the best point from them, Bernie is bae. But it was just too hard to get through it all, not really that rewarding.

I think nobody mentioned campaign because it has no replayability and most of us play since 2019. We either finished or tried and dismissed the campaign long ago.

But the campaign is actually great for players who are not creative and just like to finish some tasks or for players who like the challenge to build a beautiful zoo in a challenging terrain (and not the boring flat map). Some of the maps (especially the Soviet one) look great and give a lot of inspiration. It's a rather good opportunity to try different settings for a zoo without doing research before. I had a great time when I played it after my first franchise zoo lagged to much and I learned a lot for my later franchise zoos. The second to last level in Japan is a really head scratcher though, and sometimes the player just has to let the game run for a little while to finish the level when everything is done but not all tasks are fulfilled.

Timed scenarios on the other hand are terrible. They strip planet Zoo of its strengths. I really don't understand what the devs see in them.

Agree with everyone on this page - the characters are great - but all of the Challenge mode games get tedious and a bit boring - they stress me out - so Sandbox for me.

  • Community Challenges. I often spend the full two weeks (beginning with the online announcement) to work on the community challenge. The first "off" week is setting up the zoo, building, making money, training staff, and searching for animals. And then the second "on" week is completing the challenge itself, whether that's breeding or getting them to the highest star rating. It makes for a nice rhythm for me, since there is a new challenge every two weeks, which keeps me cycling through all the different game mechanics (and hopefully getting better at each of them as I go).
This is exactly how I play. I get so excited for the next challenge to be announced. I find I enjoy the quality ..I.e. 3 star animals, rather than quantity.

I like all modes, althought the timed modes can be hard, which can make it more stressfull instead of relaxing, which can be fun, depending on the state of mind.

I mostly play and love sandbox because I can customize the whole game experience in sandbox.

But I also love the career scenarios.... except for the timed ones, which I hate, and it's disappointing that Frontier is relentlessly shoving them at us Instead of regular non-timed. The most recent timed ones, I tried to ignore the ticking clock and just completed the scenario in a relaxed manner and got bronze. But it isn't as easy as it sounds to ignore a ticking clock! I wish Frontier would give us the option to turn the clock off completely so those scenarios aren't so stressfully time-pressured.
