Most joyous of happy days.

I just had a message pop up saying that I'm now a Petty Officer and that my permit to the solar system is unlocked. I've been working on that since I got the game. Oh happy days.

Yay, I can now go home....

To properly celebrate you are required to go to Earth, hold position over your native continent, take a screen shot, and save it with the file name "I-can-see-my-house-from-here". ;)

Congratulations, I got mine a few months ago. It's kinda cool finally getting to travel in a system that feels "familiar" since you've grown up learning about the system.

Grats! You can now check if your grandkids left the lights on.. And don't go stealing Voyagers Golden Disk, it was just returned.

Ahem, that rebuy cost though.

Congrats. :)

And on another note, what colour scheme are you using? I feel like a change, and that looks nice. Good choice of ship, too. ;)

I recently got given the Sol permit too... Which was a little odd, as I've always had it (you'd think they'd check first...).

There you go, it actually keeps the proper colours throughout so no weirdly coloured people ;)
I love my ship, such a great jump range on it.

You need a permit?
Yeah you have to be a Petty Officer with the Federation. I'm only working for the Fed, cause I want to go to Earth...

Right, Once I've cleared my mission backlog I'm jumping straight to Earth and I'm gonna fill my drive with screenshots ;)

Brace for disappointment - Earth is there, but for some reason it's.. an... Earth-like world, so you won't be landing there in the foreseeable future.
And Luna is permit locked too, as is Triton, and there are no known methods to obtain these permits.

Most Players require a Permit to be allowed to the SOL system. For a fortunate few (and I am one of these) who joined before the official launch one of the Backer perks was the SOL permit. I have been there a few times, and it does make the hairs on the back of your neck rustle when you are in orbit over Earth.

As FDev have said they intend to hand engineer the SOL system (apart from a few things) it is not possible to land on most planets there. This (it is hoped) will change in the future.

I got mine a few weeks ago. Have hit all the inner planets. Make sure you dock at Mikhael Gorbechev station, get a screenie. ;)

I am going to do the outer system after I get back from a little jaunt out in the black. Have fun!

You can't land on the moon???
What? Why? That would be really cool.

We're all assuming it's because they're hand-crafting it with actual Moon altitude data, and they want to get everything as accurate as possible - at the same time, they want to figure out a way to ensure that nobody can blow up the Apollo landers and other relics or doodle obscenities with their SRV tracks across Tranquillity Base.

Why would anybody do that? We all know the Moon landings were filmed in Nevada by Stanley Kubrick, right?

:x

Nice! I'm there quite often. Only problem is, now there are too many planets. It was a lot nicer to navigate when there were just nine or ten, now there's a bunch of useless extra decoy planets.
