mouse and m&k

how many players are playing m&k,i do have for years, gave my joy stick up as i kept knocking it over, lol, but am TE,so in the end works fine for me,interested,no shame, answers but no O WOW lol,07 cmdrs

Started on xbox with a controller, that's how I've played since. Tried m&k during the odyssey alpha. Just prefer controller at the end of the day, even for the ground stuff

I've always used Mouse and Keyboard when gaming on PC, I was primarily an FPS player so it "was the way".
Only time I used a controller was when GTA came out on PC, it all came naturally with a controller. Then I used a controller for fighting games and racing games.

Now I use it for on foot only in Odyssey too, for ease of getting around.
I may go back to pure M+KB when I do more ground combat, I may transition to controller for SRV and on-Foot. Unsure as yet, as lots of bindings which are comfortable to me will need to be made.

I have been using keyboard and mouse since Frontier Elite. It works well enough when you're not doing much FA-off.

I have had the game for 8 months, started with controller and now use mouse and keyboard.

I seem to have better aim overall, and I had problems with thumb going numb on long battles. Got my first solo Thargoid kill after I switched.

And FSS seems insanely faster with mouse and keyboard, once you adjust the mouse speed in there.

When piloting space ships, I use a HOTAS. In Horizons, when at stations or when using the 4 ships panels, I use a gaming keypad - a Razor Orbweaver with 20 keys and couple of thumb controls. This for my left hand, just to the left of the HOTAS throttle.

Now in Odyssey, I use the keypad and mouse for on-foot mode. The mouse is in my right hand, directly to the right of the joystick. All four together are just a little wider than my normal keyboard, so its very comfortable to use, and kind of best of all worlds for me.

The only thing that feels a little clunky now is the SRV - it doesn't feel right (to me) with either HOTAS or Keypad and Mouse.

I use mouse and keyboard!
Hello Zac, a silly question

What should I do when I get an APEX for a planetary station with more than 3G?

I cannot go down because the gravity is too high, and APEX cannot take me back or anywhere else and I have no access to any options after that.
Are there any modifications to Arthemis that allow me to walk in stations with high gravity? how do station agents manage to live there? can I rent an SRV to walk around straight from the APEX panel without my ship?
There is nothing but sitting in the Apex chair with the pilot asking me to disembark and the option of disembarkation is impossible due to the high gravity
(Sarcasm) So this is the end game since there is nothing more to be done from now on?

By the way, I’m very excited about all the rest of the content

Hey Howard (great profile picture), this seems like a bug - you should raise a support ticket.

Thank you for answering so fast

I already opened a ticket on saturday but still got no answer (Id # 79969)

But now I'm curious, is it really possible to walk on foot in a station with very high gravity, as in this case?
Where's the bug? in the apex being able to bring me here? when the station is on a planet with 3G? or that I can't go down because the gravity is too high? if there was no bug, what should happen from here?

Obs: game in Portuguese br, the option says: "impossible to disembark, high gravity"

Edit: I solved the problem last night by entering a random multi crew session, log out and log in with only horizons

Mostly just controller for everything but typing and occasional menu navigation with the mouse. That being said, I haven't bothered with Odyssey much at all. Waiting for things to settle down there before I take the time needed for it.

I have the keyboard set as a backup though for emergency use if the controller cuts out or something like that. Haven't needed it so far.

HOTAS for ships, Xbox controller for SRVs and casual foot gameplay. Using the keyboard and mouse for menus and stuff.

If I ever did any "serious" FPS stuff I'd go KB/M though.

Some of the keybinds are a bit fiddly to set up though having 3 input devices...
